LADIES IN WAITING: Carine Roitfeld, a guest editor and stylist at Barneys New York this fall, has also been tapped by none other than Karl Lagerfeld. The designer just wrapped up shooting Chanel’s fall-winter campaign in Paris with Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen, a Chanel regular, the sole model, and Roitfeld, the former Vogue Paris editor in chief, as stylist. “The mix with Freja was genius,” Lagerfeld assured.

Next week, the snap-happy fashion maven will lens the Fendi campaign, once again with Anja Rubik. “I like to work with the same girls and boys all the time,” he said. To wit: Lagerfeld has assembled a slew of his favorite ladies — including Erichsen, Lady Amanda Harlech, Anna Mouglalis and Kristen McMenamy — to star in a movie he is making in tandem with the Chanel cruise collection he will show in Antibes on May 9. It will be shot in Monaco and other locations in the South of France.

Freja for Chanel sounds good to me. At least it's OG this time. No Baptiste even? So that is somewhat surprising ;) Besides, people always say Freja doesn't deserve the No.1 spot on MDC's ranking because her campaign's and covers are usually multi-girl, so I'm happy she's the sole star of the Chanel campaign next season

J.Lo for LV? Hell no. Not that I didn't like her last campaign but I was really hoping for a supermodel cast, too.

hmmm im sure Babtiste will be there!
and while karl is in chanel she will be there! as baptiste will,we will see what happen when chanel get a new disgner.

lol so they're making a movie again for Chanel Cruise. Remember Now was such a fiasco  i wonder how this new one
will turn out. but i'm definitely glad Freja's OG for Chanel this time seeing as the collection itself looked Freja-inspired.

shocking news, freja for chanel. is it me who is getting old or karl is actually getting too old? luckily i dont work for chanel or else ill get fired for questioning karl's choice.

Oh God, when will Karl ever get tired of shooting Freja in his campaign for the brand??? I guess it's just a wishful thinking after all.^_^ Baptiste would be there....FOR SURE.

I thought that I've already seen these shots somewhere and I guess I was right, just discovered it in Vogue Paris October 2010 issue. So, it's F/W 10.11 campaign.

lol things are just the way they were.  i'm just waiting for the karlie for dior news, MCB for givenchy... can't be any happier! :woot:

Are they the same shots, because Rosie did the FW 2010 campaign, Sasha did SS 2011 and then for FW 2011 they switch back to Rosie or at least I thought they did based on recent press?

Chanel with an OG-campaign?

That sounds too good to be true.

Indeed. And also nothing exciting. It would be a surprise if a other model was OG instead of Freja. It's funny that someone bringing up MDC rank that Freja now should be number 1, like who cares in this thread for that really :innocent:

Blah, once again Chanel and Fendi will be throwaway campaigns of the season. I don't have much faith that those combinations have anything in them to inspire or surprise people.

And I guess Kors really has moved on from Karmen, lol.

The purpose of a campaign is to sell products and raise brand awareness and that can be done using the same model(s) and themes or taking a simple approach. Personally, I like when things get mixed up a bit and but at the same time, when I have had a magazine in my hands, I have been as mesmerized by a simple Ralph Lauren image as I have by something more experimental like DSquared2, Lanvin and Bottega Venetta. And when you look at the size and growth of the companies being discussed, more often than not, you can't say that taking a quieter and predictable approach has been unsuccessful.

P.S.
For the record I think that, while Fendi has used the same model, they do mix it up when it comes to campaigns.
