Does anyone have any information on the brand, Falke? They make high-end knitwear and high-tec sports underwear, long-johns etc. I know they manufacture knitwear for Armani and Christian Lacroix Homme.

Thank you. I was more hoping if you had any comments about your personal experiences of the brand. Falke's own website is hardly going to tell me 'actually our clothes are crap - x brand is way better'.

i did not know they were making anything else than socks and tights, that's what they are most widely known for in germany...i own several socks and tights and would say they are of a very good quality..i have no idea about the other stuff though, sorry.

(p.s: your signature is great, princeofcats, that's something my father would say...is that a durruti quote or who said that?)

I use Falke tights/stockings quite a bit when styling photoshoots etc. and have quite a few styles myself - I think they're comparable to Wolford in quality and price, while being a bit more trend led/fashionable with some nice ranges at the moment.

Sorry I have no personal experiences of the brand I know only that the company was started in 1895 by Franz Falke-Rohen in Germany and initially made socks. In 1938 Falke acquired a knitwear factory and started producing outer garments as well as stockings and yarn. The move into hosiery was in 1958 with an acquisition that resulted in Falke making fully-fashioned stockings. In 2001 30% of production exported outside Germany. Members of the Falke family still run the company and today is an international company.

i agree about the quality but here at least they are not as expensive as wolford...tights are usually about 12€ (while wolfords are about 20€)...but maybe that`s different from country to country.

I think it's our old friend Buenaventura.

Thanks for all the comments people.

The item I'm thinking of buying is a men's v-neck sweater in brown with pink neck and wrist bands, 50% silk 50% hemp. Just scouting the brand out before moving in for the kill.

Sounds nice :D I like the brown/pink combo. and the fabric comp. is good too...if the quality of their hosiery is anything to go by, I reckon it's worth a sale.
