^ Cheers muchly. Can't wait to see more of Ewan, I've not seen Prada look so rugged in a looong time.
>> I think I've said before that a magazine that I regularly read is Fantastic Man, given that the boyf buys every issue and ergo, I get to snarf through it without spending a penny. There's something about the dialogue about style as opposed to fashion that is very refreshing to an all-over-the-place scatterbrain like me as it literally makes me sit down and think for five minutes about say an item like a bow tie. Actually the fact that 1,000 words can be pumped out on a subject like the bow tie AND be engaging is in itself an impressive feat.
Therefore, I was pretty excited when I heard rumours floating about early summer that a sister magazine would be on its way. Nope, it ain't Fantastic Woman but it's going to be called Gentlewoman and the first issue will be launched in spring/summer 2010. The taster in the current A/W 09 issue of Fantastic Man has already had me anticipating sessions of sitting still, good and proper in an Eames chair with an issue and a cup of Earl Grey tea at the site (no biscuit as I don't want to get grease stains on the matt paper...).
A spread about the perfect jumper... and pointy bras seen at Louise Goldin S/S 10 are already in force...
cannot wait to read power of nappingA piece about the benefits of napping for more brain power... not sure this is something I can adopt given my penchant for 3-hour sleeping time...
cannot wait to read Karla Otto !!My favourite spread is this piece about Karla Otto, superpower of fashion PR... she looks completely amazing...
And Gentlewoman is one of the dumbest magazine titles I've heard of in my entire life. Its so dumb that its genius. I love it.
Received this issue today.
I actually think the Fantastic Man content and direction works well when directed at women, through The Gentlewoman. It seems like a bit of an untapped market. But maybe I'm just in love with the fact that they included an article on Melanie Ward...
fashionismydrug, correct there is a preview in this issue. To quote the magazine, "It is a first glimpse of a new title for a new decade... THE GENTLEWOMAN will fully emerge in 2010."
