what are your favourite handbag ads?

i really like these Francesco Biasia ads:

i like how they are freaky and very unrealistic.

I loved the moschino ad for his handbags that looked like a melting chocolate cake - it was in a patisserie with loads of cakes. I have the handbag too , the one that was reissued after the millenium ( I believe the original was bought out in 1996) id love to see that ad again - does anyone have a copy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also have one of these handbags in the costume collection at the victoria and albert museum here in london.

wow guys..none of your pics are working...

i moved this over from handbags...:flower:

i guess this is my favourite bag ad...
cause i actually went out and bought the bag...

there were only two made...
and i've got one of them...:woot:

sorry for the funny pic...the ad is hanging on my wall...part of a collage...

they only made two because it was a marketing test...

it was before the 'baguette' phenomenon...fendi was testing this shape, which was an updated version of a classic vintage fendi bag...they were thinking about bringing back this logo buckle and using a shorter strap that would tuck the bag under your arm...
i think catherine deneuve had one...not sure...but it was originally a 1960's style...this was a re-issue and they tested it in only a few colours and materials (2 of each) and only sold it in their NYC flagship store...lots of companies test ideas before going into full production...

as we now know...the bag was a huge hit and then they came out with the baguette a couple of years later...and now many bags have that shorter strap and fendi continues to use that logo on their bags...but at the time...there was nothing like it except in a thrift store or vintage shop...

i can't remember what year it was...maybe 1996?...

and the other pic next to it is just some tear from vogue from a couple years ago and i drew a pair of pants onto the model that looks like my 'pirate pants'...i don't know the model's name...^_^...

Thanks for posting those pictures fashionyork!! I love both of those ads

The thing about the marketing test is very interesting softgrey--I had no idea  . . . having 1 of only 2 bags produced must make the bag extra special to you. Are the bags usually priced the same in marketing tests as when they are mass produced?
