I'm still amazed by how fast Steven Meisel dropped her

what? steven meisel dropped her? why? and i thought she would have the possibility of being the first full asian to grace the cover of vogue italia after audrey quock who wasn't even fully asian....oh well.... damn...when is meisel ever gonna use an asian model on the cover...

It didnt occur to me yesterday when I was reading and replying Ollie it but how exactly do we know that Meisel dropped her? His recent work had all been single girl work and he had used Raquel and Karlie and mostly really well known girls. Fei Fei is not at Karlie or Raquel's level yet I think. So if that's how we judge it, then lots of girls have been dropped by Meisel. Was there a statement somewhere of this? Just curious.

If it's indeed true, then yeah, fashion is a fickle thing. But Fei Fei is a unique girl, so I think she'll still do some exciting work for a few more years.

Unless there's something we don't know, I don't think that it's safe to assume that he dropped her although he does tend to do that. He even dropped Daria, and in my opinion there hasn't been a model even close to her level since. But if Fei Fei doesn't work with him again I don't doubt that she will be working with a lot of other great photographers because her high profile campaigns and editorials probably opened a lot of doors for her.

As far as I know Audrey Quock is 100% Chinese but born and raised in NYC.

As for Steven Meisel, I think he will most likely continue to use Fei Fei if/when he has a project that needs multiple girls or a diverse cast. He hasn't shot another Asian girl yet in his recent projects.
