Fendi F/W 2024.25 Milan

So what's the point of keeping KJ at Fendi if he is just an aesthetical and financial embarrassment? Has he been vetted for future job like women's Dior or what ? Don't really understand daddy Arnault's strategy here, throw me a rope here guys...
The brand is not growing as much but it’s not a financial embarrassment.
The twist about a brand like Fendi is that the vision of Kim is what is on the forefront but the accessories are all Silvia.
That being said, and we have seen it with Karl, the quality of the RTW collections created a buzz around the brand.
The structure around Fendi is strong but it’s far from being the powerhouse it was.
 
It's a shame that it's so boring because the color palette is quite beautiful. Love olive pieces.

That statue print could have been integrated so much better. This designer is not very resourceful.
 
Remember when Fendi used to be actually luxurious? Why would anyone spend thousands of dollars on stuff that has no glamor or uniqueness?
 
Total bore of a collection, Fendi used to be so unique and fun (even if it sometimes ended up on the wrong side of gaudy)…the worst part it’s that although this is objectively bad, it’s actually quite good considering whose in charge and the type of collections he’s already presented. LVMH with an L of Lowering Standards.
 
A bit too early to revive that Riccardo-esque religious icon. Without any context at that. This has been so sad they need to put it out of its misery. Hopefully he doesn’t have any illusion of going to Dior women’s. He doesn’t know what to do with womenswear. MGC might be boring, but at least her clothes speak to people.
 
Gosh idk if he's getting lazier every season or he's just really a terrible and uninspiring creative director. Poor Fendi. How can anyone see the clothes as aspirational?
 
This was certainly more Sylvia than Kim. Love the shoes, especially the shoes, and the accessories look good compared to the clothes.

I can not stand Kim's ways with colour and styling. He is absolutely hopeless and needs to go. He's offering nothing to the brand and as each collection goes by, I get more and more confused as to what Fendi is about because what ever personality it has left is quickly fading. There are some inklings of good, but you know that was more Sylvia than Kim because it's that easy to discern who's design vernacular is at play with them.

Just those stupid blood slashed and styled jerseys and knits. And that blue one-piece... What the f*ck?!?!?

Fendi under Karl was basically spaceship clothes. Out of this world, exotic, foreign, unscrutible. Exotic like an obelisk on the Moon.

It's almost like what's happened to Chanel. There's no artistry at either of these houses anymore. It's boring!
 
I only like the second and third looks of Julia and Mona. The rest of the collection is just pointless.

It's not a bad collection, he presented worse. This is just not exciting or fun. Fendi used to offer real fashion propositions, every season there were some fun and eye-catching fashion details that made you want to rush into the store. Now it is just clothes, Fendi is on the same level as Loro Piana.
If you're not going to give us real fur at least make the knitwear fun and desirable. The client may come to the store to buy a bag or a pair of boots, and maybe if they have some money to spare, they'll buy a sweater. No one is going to rush into the store for them.

Just another lackluster season at Fendi.
 
Nothing here feels “especial” and there’s a lack of beauty or uniqueness that you were to expect from Fendi. It is one of Kim’s better outings but its so uninspiring and same old formula that he is been stuck on, no growth, no passion, no exploration.

The boots are nice.
 
This is far from a bad collection when the intent is to cater to a female customer similar to what Hermes looks like these days - Minimal and ultra-luxe, with great tailored separates and beautiful leather pieces that would make for timeless investments. There are even a few dresses I like, such as the sleeveless, moss-green one with boat neck and high split (If they have that in another color, that is). The boots are by far the most desirable pieces and I would rather have this over Akris but that's not very difficult.

It's clear, though, that nothing directional is going to happen out of Kim Jones tenure at Fendi, a distinct point of view on what this is about other than just a polite array of merchandise - And we all know that's not quite going to cut it for a LVMH-owned brand.
 
what is it with this man's tawdry color palette taste? his sense of mixing and matching is worst than a three year old learning to dress themselves. how did he get this gig again? did he crawl on all fours and bark? or was it oinks?

once again with a putrid green accompanied by asylum shades of blue and yellow and pock-marked pink dots that don't brighten the day and give hope that life is worth living, but reminds us of how anodyne and insipid jones' era has been at fendi and how it needs to finally come to an end. talk about a fall from grace - fendi was on a perch and now it's barely hanging on the lowest tree branch. with the green, it must be in a dying bush on a battered, jagged mountainside. not even the accessories are enough to salvage this.

once again, menswear designers do not always make for good womenswear designers. another one with questionable integrity who took this position for the money, fame, and perks while lowkey loathing women's bodies.

Because a lot of people buy stuff to flex, especially on social media, not for the sake of design and uniqueness. On a different note, that's exactly why I break my head wondering why would anyone purchase Chanel (so ugly it hurts) or Gucci, or even Louis Vuitton (as much as I love Ghesquière) and the same old same old (I do enjoy Hermès and old Fendi, because the houses always produced timeless, high quality fashion). Most of these big names offer nothing but mediocre flexing material and we live in a society reigned by social media, which encourages status symbol purchases. Most people lack authenticity and succumb themselves to the predominant herd mentality.
And yeah, this collection is mediocre at best. The last Fendi collection I enjoyed was FW 2020.
 
His best, but overall bad and boring. However, the casting is good. Makes me miss Nobis and Poly on the covers and campaigns a lot. Can we throw away Naomi and Linda, and bring them, Joan Smalls, Yasmin Warsame and Tao Okamoto back?
