Fendi F/W 2025.26 by Steven Meisel

The eyewear images look like AI.

The over smoothing of the skin is almost uncomfortable to look at!

I like it, but I would have liked a little more drama in both the photos and the video, and Ned Rogers's influence is obviously evident. Vittoria reminded me of herself in the FW24/25 campaign.

Fashion gone rogue
I heard a while back that Ned hasn’t been his assistant in almost two years what influence do you mean? I think he just shoots the more commercial stuff that Steven doesn’t want to for these.

Ned may not be his assistant, but he works closely with him. Enninful's final cover of British Vogue featured an editorial by Rogers inside the issue. FW24 Fendi campaign featured a sort of editorial with the same protagonists in a very similar setting, also shot by Rogers. The same campaign featured a video, directed by Rogers with Ceretti, Yai, Zhang e Perote.

It’s just a beautiful campaign. It won’t revolutionize anything.
There’s also this thing with Meisel. I find it ridiculous that some people expect « newness » from him at this stage of his career.
I’m personally happy when the campaign is good. My favorite Hermes campaign ever was the one shot by Avedon for Gaultier’s first season. It’s pure Avedon, nothing revolutionary but it was good.

I think Nick Knight’s campaign for Silvia’s last RTW show before Kim Jones was fabulous, even superior to this. But when you compare this campaign by Meisel to the campaigns under KJ, there’s a huge gap.

And also, another thing: This Fendi campaign will probably stand out among all the campaigns around, surely because it echoes a Valentino one.
When I look at all the campaigns released so far, this one is the most achieved.
The one with Isabeli Fontana and Liliane Ferrarezi?

Exactly he sometimes now shoots the supplemental campaigns to Steven’s which are to go with Steven’s work in a way that it looks like Steven shot it. His current assistant also shoots most of these as well when budget doesn’t afford it for Ned. If you think a former assistant is advising him you would be wrong it would be the other way around. I can confirm this on good knowledge. Ned’s work is a derivative of Steven’s and what he learned from him. A cheaper version alas but a version.

Oh but that one was under Margiela by Miles Aldridge, I was talking about FW 04.
Oh sorry I though you was talking about the Valentino campaign!
Oh yes! Yes the Hermes campaign by Avedon with Isabell for Gaultier’s first collection!
Yes stunning. Essentially he re-did the stuff he has done for Pirelli but the sprit of it reminded so much of the Bill King campaigns.
