Fendi Haute Couture S/S 2023 Paris

Omg, what a disastrous show.

This Collection looks like an Elie Saab show on c****.
The executions are so bad, the draping looks laughable, it looks like he doesn't have time to do a proper drape so he just sews fabrics onto the garments, some of them are barely hanging on the models. His lack of technical skills in womenswear is shown every season.
The color palette is depressing. Fendi used to be a house full of colors, and Karl's couture used to be so vibrant, since Kim arrived everything is always beige, with neutral earth tones. Can he find a decent colorist for his team, please?

Just give this house back to Silvia already. Kim is certainly not a couturier and he doesn't have anything to offer for this brand and is such a pain to see this every season.

Karl's Fendi couture used to feel special because he didn't do it every season, and when he presented, it was a highlight of the week. Now it's just another mediocre parade.

everything was constructed so bad... is it couture cause he personally hand-made each piece?

i miss the haute fourrure! I think there is definitely space for fur in haute couture when each piece is made just for the client and isn't mass produced. A lot more sustainable that faux fur in rtw.

It’s a terrible show with a terrible color palette. It takes an expert to handle these muted tones, it has to perform well on the skin and the context needs to complement it. That brings me to the set and music, which feel so out of touch and not cool. This sterile chamber has been done before and better, like rafs time travel collection for dior. Music was also really awful, I’d feel attacked sitting in that space.

the clothes, typical, these giant curtains enveloping the body feel so démodé.

it’s travesty that this is allowed to go out.

I had to revive my TFS account to comment on this.
I am sorry but this is very amateure looking and miss the point of couture. The silhouettes are terrible, a colour palette as bland as this one only works to highlight clean fits and details which is not the case here.
We laugh at couture being useless but even in the useless department this collection fails to deliver.

I know Couture has regained lots of attention the past seasons however the Fédération should be more strict on conditions and really highlight Métiers d'Arts as it is supposed to do so.

A big big miss.
And I love Fendi.

Mona’s gown was the only thing that caught my attention. Somebody really needs to tell Kim to stop all of this.

Everyone will look ill in those colours and yet, Jones decided to build a whole couture collection around them. That says everything about his skills as a designer.

The silhouettes look so bad that there's nothing to talk about. I feel embarrassed when looking at those looks and that shouldn't happen, especially not with Fendi's resources and budget.

This shrinking violet of a collection... perfect for blending into the background.

LOL Everyone’s way too kind. This joker managed to mangle 39 generic mother-of-the-bride dresses with sloppy, and such unflattering drapes/folds/pleats in one go, and called it Fendi Haute Couture. That such incompetence is sent down the runway is nothing short of hilarious.

I have found the perfect title for this collection: « Désastre Aléatoire ».

It’d obviously a disaster and it seems like the clothes were made without any logic. They had some base of a column muslin and decided to drape in the most hazardous way.

Karl’s vision for Fendi in terms of Couture has always been rooted in the idea of fur as material but also a play on texture and techniques to recreate the look or the texture of fur. He has always said that he didn’t want Fendi to look like any other Italian brand and in a way he succeeded in that.

This looks like a bad Alberta Ferretti show. But I’m very much confused by the fact that Kim Jones has such a narrow dated view of Couture. HC so far for him has been about gowns…
Even more as a menswear designer, no tailoring?
Flou is obviously not his thing so what’s the point?

And there’s nothing fun or pop or interesting about his work. Terrible.
I take Giambattista Valli and Alexis Mabille over this.
