Fendi S/S 2020 Milan

What a disappointment...
After that amazing Couture collection...THIS?
I see a lot of great pieces, some great fur coats and beautiful bags but it’s not a good collection...AT ALL.

This collection doesn’t have the focus, the point of view, the vision or the precision i usually see at Fendi. Yes, it all came down to Karl but the design team managed to translate his ideas in a fluid way and the Resort collection made me excited for this...

This is just a good showcase of products that will fill the stores.

This is Silvia first solo collection... I’m going to let her find her place but it will eventually break my heart to give up on Fendi....I’m almost ready to gave up on Chanel.

I’m missing Karl but it will be better to honor him by putting great talents at the helm of those brands....

But i’ll give her time.

It's fine I guess. Fendi was never really my cup of tea.

I honestly don't see that huge of a difference between this and the last few collections by Karl. I suppose the team had taken over most of it by then anyways.

There are some really, really nice pieces throughout.

Yellow mixed with the most horrible tones of brown make the collection look suffocating and heavy.

Well it's certainly very much like her menswear: extremely commercial, "youthful" and shallow.

Some of the looks are great, like the ones with the skirts and jackets, but the color palette is bleh and the prints are eww!

Couture collection was perfection this is really ugly in comparison, not feeling the casting either somehow.

I know brown is a signature colour of the house but they've really overdone it here. Even with all those different shades, it sort of just washes everything out. While the prints aren't that bad, they don't add much either.

The styling is on the wrong side of gimmicky and the fifty shades of brown section falls flat on its face, there are some nice garments in here but that lack of cohesion and substance makes it all seem terribly banal. Fendi is quite commercial but the color palette, playful accesories and rich textiles always made it seem so fun and fresh. This is muddy and dull. Where's that razor sharp editing of seasons past?

I truly hope this is not the beggining of the end for Fendi...
