Fendi S/S 2025 : Mona Tougaard, Karolina Spakowski & Lina Zhang by Steven Meisel

@Lola701 Be nice! It's not fair to hold Meisel's charity work against him.
The worst with Meisel and Anna Sui was that there were seasons where he was delivering fabulous campaigns for Lanvin, Vuitton, Balenciaga and Prada. And in the same season, he did complete trash for Anna Sui.

It's not the best campaign I've never seen, but by current standards, nor is it the worst - it just exists as something with generic appeal, and will never satisfy someone needing to see fashion as we knew it.

The average person is going to see products clearly displayed, against pretty spring colours, on people, some of whom even look happy.

Given the shift in people gravitating towards handbags etc in the past few years, how much does the average Fendi buyer of 2025 care about Meisel and what that should mean?

And given the torrent of low-effort sh*t that passes for fashion imagery these days, I can't bring myself to kick a campaign that probably counts as one of the less-offensive things I'm likely to see on the pages of Jan-Feb-March issues.

Go see Meisel’s Anna Sui campaigns.

Beauty campaigns, to be precise! Her clothing line ads he shot in the 90s were fabulous. Even the make-up ads in the early 2000s used to be cute, in a campy sort of way.

Not buying that viral argument on Instagram that this is worse than the new Prada ads (Carey's ones). I believe it looks so commercial, and if Anna Wintour never jumped to the celeb formula, American Vogue covers would look like that. Models with open smiles and a bit posed reminds me of to that time. I don't expect something above from Kim Jones, so represents well his work.
