Anyone have a clue where to shop in Florida?
I will be in following cities:
Ft. Lauderdale
Miami
Orlando
Tampa, or somewhere else on the westcoast ^_^

Any good vintage/thrift stores around those areas? I'd love to find some vintage ts and leather jackets so if any stores are specialized for those sort of things.. well any tips are appreciated! :flower:

Hmm, I don't know any off the top of my head, but there is a lot $$$ in the Ft. Lauderdale/ Boca/ West Palm Beach Beach area, so I would check out all the thrift and consignment stores there... you'll be able to find a lot of designer stuff.

great thread. My mum just bought a home on the west coast of Florida so I can't wait to get down and explore the shopping scene....

Sill, my brother lives in Tampa, and just to let you know, the shopping there is pretty crappy. There's a big mall with a Neimans and a Saks, but those are all over the place in Florida. You probably won't want to spend much time in Tampa.

yeah, well we're just staying there one night :) if we'll be staying in tampa that is :P
thank you all for the tips :D

There are a million goodwills south of tampa, But I never find anything good there.

Like stated above, Tampa has a few goodwills and Salvation Armys.

I live in South Tampa and we have a few consignment shops worth mentioning.

On Gandy Blvd, The Triage have a consignment shop of designer labels for women only. http://www.triageconsignment.com/

On West Linebaugh Avenue, A boutique called Couture sells exclusive designer wear labels and high designer items. http://www.coutureusa.com/Contact/Directions.aspx

On Kennedy Blvd, Second Image Thirft has nice selections in vintage finds for bargain prices. http://secondimagethriftstores.com/

In Ybor city, Revolve Clothing Exchange offers http://revolve.smugmug.com/gallery/2560053 new, used, and vintage quality goods.

Geez - I live in Orlando and I haven't been to some of these places yet!! Shame on me! :hardhead:

Here is one that I do know of nearby:

Deja Vu Vintage Clothing

When you're in Miami check out the vintage stores on South Beach. There are some great stores on Washington St., like Recyled Blues. Fly Boutique on Lincoln Road is a great place to look around. They always have to die stuff. I've wanted to try some of the stores I've seen in the more North Beach area. I'm figuring all the old Jewish ladies have some good things...

If you want to dig around like goodwill style try Flamingo Plaza in Hialeah.

I guess I'll throw in Miami Twice on Bird Road though I haven't been there in a really long time. There's a great store in Coconut Grove that always has good purses on Commodore.

That's all I can really think of right now. But Miami is certainly booming with stores.

La France in Ybor City (Tampa). A fantastic vintage store.

C. Madeleine's
http://shop.cmadeleines.com
13702 Biscayne Blvd.
North Miami Beach (Aventura), Florida 33181
Tel: 305.945.7770

Each area of the store is organized according to decade...
A lot of lovely Victorian & 20s pieces...
Great selection of hard-to-find designers such as
Norma Kamali, Halston, Pierre Cardin, Cristobal Balenciaga,
Courreges, Jeanne Lanvin, YSL, Thierry Mugler, Mary Quant,
& More...
It's $$$, but the each piece is amazing and in top-notch condition..
By far, the best vintage/consignment shop I have come across
in Florida...

yeah i love cmads. i get a lot of stuff from there

tbh, thrift in miami is not as good as it was back then, the hialeah thrift shops in flamingo plaza are always bringing new stuff but its a total hit or miss.

ive walked out of there with some AMAZING stuff and sometimes i had also walked out very dissapointed
