Hey guys,

I'll be going to SF for Thanksgiving break to visit a friend, and I'd just like to know what are some good thrift stores? Any stores where I might be able to find vintage designer stuff? Looking for suit jackets in particular, maybe some jeans too... If you could give me their approximate locations and names, it would be great help. Thanks!

I am far from expert on vintage, but you should check out upper Grant Ave. (above Columbus Ave.), there are a lot of stores with used & vintage stuff. Start at Columbus and work your way up to about Filbert...

I am sure there are good places in the Mission and in Berkeley, but I don't know where exactly they would be.

the best thrift stores are on haight street and valencia street in the mission...

if you walk up and down haight, from masonic to stanyan, you'll pass a bunch:
wasteland, 1660 haight
buffalo exchange, 1555 haigh
aardvark's, 1501 haight
la rosa, 1711 haight
crossroads, 1519 haight
held over, 1543 haight

ver unica, 437 hayes (in hayes valley) has been a top ranked vintage store for years...

american rag, 1305 van ness between bush and sutter has vintage clothes as well as brand new clothing by paul smith, marc by marc jacobs, diesel, and more, but i think their vintage prices are a bit expensive...

crossroads trading company is a chain that has store in the castro, pacific heights and haight, but the clothing is more contemporary (they sell nine west shoes, coach handbags, etc.), but sometimes you find a hidden gem...
