Gary Graham S/S 06 New York

very turn-of-the-century inspired, like lots from this collection

thanks for bringing this in space :flower:

OMG...looks quite nice,actually

Love the first two looks especially-that moth-eaten striped coat is beyond fabulous

hmmmm - not sure about this...I can see the influences you mention Lena but it looks almost like its not quite sure about itself. Some of the pieces are nice but it seems to lack a conviction that will set it apart & get it noticed or something that will define it from other NY commercial clothes.

Agree with Helena.... I don't like this... it's too girly girly and amateur-ish for my tastes.....

ladies, you are VERY tough with yound designers :D
but that's ok i guess

^well,it's not exactly innovative;the composition is rather literal. So yes,I do agree in the respect that it's not quite distinct,Helena. But hey...given the dismal start to FW,it's certainly a breath of fresh air thus far.

oh now I feel bad....i do think there is something there Lena. But I think he is toning it down because he feels the need to be commercial. I could be wrong though.

Kimkhuu I don't think its amatuerish really, I just think its trying to appeal to a conservative market and maybe some of the elements of the collection are a little restrained perhaps.

Not meaning to be down on a young designer though. There is at least more inspiration there tahn with many of the big names showing in NYC.

imo...this is absolutely his best collection to date...
he has really matured as a designer and while he has stayed true to his gothic roots...
he has adapted them into more wearable pieces...

very nice...
i want to see the rest of this...

^ I agree I<3 Chanel, It is a nice collection, it doesnt leave me speechless, but I like it.

^ i agree 100% i_love_chanel the shapes are great, the colors are a little drab...

I think it's very pre-Raphaelite in it's colour scheme and just the way it moves as well...and also mixed with an attic-style Victoriana....which I think has always been part of his signature.

It's nice, very much like the direction that Naum (and I suspect many others) is also taking, and very pretty and wearable. :) Not new or original though, or sophisticated in construction like last summer's Preen. I wish I'd bought something from that Preen collection, that was really a stunning collection ahead of its time, though their fall/winter was more disappointing.

I'm not a fan of the colors but the cut of the clothing is great.

10 times as good as anything else i've seen posted from new york fashion week...
