Hello Everyone!

I recently got very fascinated with gemstone rings & decided to start a thread on this topic!

Here's my very first one (surprise from hubby ) It's set in 18K white gold, the centre is a 4.12 ct Blue Topaz, with 103 tiny diamonds totalling 0.59 ct.

This is my ring that my husband gave me for my 30th birthday. This is the ring from NM website in pink tourmine (sp?), I think it was priced there at $4,000. I have the exact same ring in aqua marine, it is 5 kts and 1kt in diamonds on the band and around the stone. I got mine at Marshall Fields. With the sale price and opening a new cc I saved 65% off. It is so pretty in person. I am now stalking Marshall Field's sales.... soon it will be Macy's.

Merrick, I noticed in the pic that you posted that there are some smaller blue stones on the shank. Did you change those to pink as well ?

I'm 17 so I don't have a whole lot of gemstone rings-yet. The two that I own are blue topaz-one was a $30 Avon one that I dug out of the garage but the other was my promise ring that I got the Christmas after I made the decision to wait until marriage.

And blue topaz is extremely popular nowadays because of its wearability.

As far as the pink tourmaline goes, I like that stone.

I have to agree about the non-traditional engagement rings. I liked it when Nicole Richie got a pink sapphire and when I get engaged, I want something other than a diamond. Maybe a nice blue topaz or a padparascha sapphire. That's at least 5 years down the road though.
