Georgie Badiel Liberty

Did anyone else see that Rip the Runway promo for 2010...she's in there..i can't find it on youtube

From Vogue Italia...and there is also a video which made me love her MORE

Georgie Badiel: I met her in Paris about 5 years ago. That was her start to model on the international circuit hailing from Burkina Faso in West Africa and was a former Miss Africa winner
I encouraged Georgie to come to New York and to my surprise discovered her in New York being discovered by others. An instant hit to the market, she was on the lips of those longing to discover new and became the favorite to top designers including Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Oscar de la Renta, Isaac Mizrahi, Chado Ralph Rucci, Phillip Lim 3.1, Halston,
Ports 1961, Diane Von Furstenberg and Lacoste.

When I met her and cast her for the return to Paris Stephen Burrows show she was instantly my favorite. She had great style with a head full of afro curls. Not only did she walk well, but was unique, photogenic and presented a different spirit. She spoke no english but her personality excelled the lines of communication.

Georgie graced the editorial pages of Italian Vogue (Vogue Gioiello), Pop magazine, Harper's Bazaar, I-D, Vibe, Essence, Jalouse, L'Officiel, Elle and appeared on the covers
of Arise Magazine and Trace Magazine. But to see Georgie walking down a runway reminds us all that she knows why she is there and its a pleasure to watch someone present a designer's collection.

I didn't want the video to end. I love her voice, she is so charming! I liked how she opened up about family she obviously loves them a lot but it seems like they challenged her modeling decision a bit in the beginning (which seems different from 80% of model parents). It's also amazing she was scouted IN Burkina Faso you don't hear that much. I like how she had an opinion on designers instead of giving the "I love everyone" for trying to be PC and not offend anyone. I'm glad she loves and appreciates what she does!
Go Georgie!

PS the new hair is fiya!
