she got in the spotlight/bookings because of her fame, not the other way around. there are many other models that don't come from famous backgrounds have more talent (not just followers). i like her and think she is beautiful but i just don't think it was won fairly

There is no such thing as fair in modeling. Who decides who is "deserving"? This isn't a merit-based occupation, you don't get better work for being more deserving. You get better work because you're in demand, right now that's Gigi.

I see this statement a lot so I don't mean to single you out, I just don't think we should build up a mythology around modeling like only the purest spirits rise to the top, that's just not what fashion is. If people like you, you get work. When they don't, it stops. No one is inherently more deserving of a modeling contract.
