Giles, S/S 06 London

He used to show as Giles Deacon and shortened it to Giles...Deacon is a better show name...

I was hoping it was different because I liked him a lot, this collection doesn't do much for me.

i dont like speaking too much about other designers work, but ill make an exeption here, I must say that i'm extremely dissappointed, as i usually look forward to his collection. I thought his last two collections were very strong and he had a "LOOK" that could be developed into something really great. I dont know , but i see an element of Rochas by theyskens in this collection, especially in the cuts and the makeup. one of the problems with some designers today is that they are not content with thier own success, they see someone do a "hit" collection and it steers them away from what they were doing, I believe that if you are true to your own vision ultimately you will achieve the level of success you deserve.

 same here, i used to love his work and was looking forward to his show but.. , this is a bit off :(

It´s boring. Although I didn´t like their show this season, I still think Proenza Schouler is much better than that ... I´m comparing the two because both are very hyped in their hometowns and are doing chic clothes with a twist ... I´m not getting fooled by the appearance of some supermodels (he´s actually VERY good friends with a booker in London so she always helps out for his shows) and occassional Treacy-hats ...

Have to see more really....but I quite like the white dress with black sash that Linda E. is wearing....and the idea of a sort of oversized 60's sheath dress is interesting and could be styled differently...not the worst thing i've seen

I don't know what to actually think of this. All I can say is I find it boring in an intriguing way. I know that statement doesn't make sense but it is exacting what I'm thinking. I'm not so impressed by this collection, I liked his other seasons much better but I wouldn't mind seeing more pics from this collection either.

Giles was gonna be the highlight for me of LFW. Unfortunately, it's only 'ok' for me. The shirts and shift dresses are very ill-fitting and not very flattering at all. I did like the use of shantung silks tho. I had to really sift through the photos to find a few things I like. These are the only ones that kinda did it for me:

I like it. Saw him a month ago in Tate Modern looking at the Herzog & de Meuron exhibit. Wonder if he draw any inspiration from there....:p

Was shock to see how big bone he is! Anyway London should keep him here and get rid of Julien.

Thought this is quite dior couture inspired

Oh dear I was looking forward to this most, how dissapointing. I don't find it hideous and there are a few pieces I quite like but it's still very dissapointing.

so dissapointed i like the first pic of linda and the rest is bad, like prada gone bad

I don't like it at all, and seriously, I don't understand all the hype around him. In a spanish fashion forum there was a discussion about London fashion week and a lot of members thought that the London week was really bad and the only one that was interesting was Giles, I was the only one that didn't agree at all, I love London fashion week, but Giles Deacon is one of my least favourite designers in this week, and seeing this, even more.

Oh boy. Not liking anything... either the items are super bland, or way too loud/big/poofy... where's the happy-medium?
