Confession time...I am addicted to Armani cosmetics

Write here about your favourites, offer recommendations, and thoughts on the collection :flower:

I have tried their matte silk foundation, they have high rates, but not with me. I think they are overrated.

i love the concept of "Armani Cosmetics" ^^
i mean, did u see the packaging, pure sophistication ;p
i only used the silky eye pencil in brown, really smooth but smudges like crazy, and a nude lip gloss(cant remeber the name, a friend borrowed it n never gave it back  ) lovely shade..
i hear bad reviews about the eye shadows, being poorly pigmented and not worth the price, havent used any myself.
alos read good reviews about their fluid sheers, i really couldnt figure out the real job of these things, but i like the idea! ^_^
The Gem Collection would look nice in ur evening clutch, but i don't think i would like to have shimmers on my lashes tho
and this looks really interesting, i HAVE to check it out asap.

miu_miu: thanks for the thread:flower:

i use the luminous silk foundation. very good coverage and blends in with the skin really well. heard that the lipsticks and lipglosses are nice too

love their lipsticks, great texture and colours

i also use their 'fluid sheer' shade 4 as a blush..

I have only tried their luminous silk foundation and its great. The best foundation i've used so far.

I'll post a picture of my collection later but thanks for everyones contributions :flower:

I have to add my praise for the foundations - easily the best I've ever used, and number 2 happens to be my most perfect colour. I never feel like I'm wearing a lot of makeup, but I just look more glowy and awake.

It's interesting to hear about the eyeshadows. I have two, which I like, but I'm not crazy about. It's hard to get a strong colour, and really don't compare to other brands, which is a shame. On the other hand, I bought the Black Gem Holiday Collection pallette, and the colours were very strong and worked really well, but the staying power was poor, so I tend to use the darker colours now as eyeliners.

Everything else though, is great. How do people find the eyeliners and mascaras?

What about the pre-makeup collection? I've used it when I had a makeover, and it was nice, but does anyone use it everyday?

Their stuff seem to be quite sheer, like the Silk Powder "foundation" which has almost no coverage but it's very finely milled. If I didn't have blemished just oily skin that would be my HG.

I like their blush in #2 for you can never overdose it.

the e/s in #11 is my everyday/natural look e/s. although it's just a mid brownish shade with very fine white shimmer it's simply perfect for natural eye makeup and well worth the high price tag.

Then I have the Mania Lipstick #1, a nice pink shade. It feels wonderful and the color is great, besides no annoying smell or taste. If I don't find a nicer lippie from GA I'll actually buy this one again

The one thing that they are really known for...thier foundations...seems to be the one thing that people really dont care for. Funny.

the just came out with a le powder compact for $110 that lights up, and the lights only last through like 20 uses or something.

Its just overhyped.

Well I can't speak for anybody but myself..
I can't get Giorgio Armani cosmetics here in Denmark.. but the products that I am interested in is the foundations (my cosmetics shopping list for London is growing at a frighteningly rate  ) and the lipsticks.

How would you rate their brushes btw ? the foundation brush inparticular?

Looking on Make Up Alley reviews, all Armani brushes get 100% recommendations. And I concur - they are truly the best. By touch they are the softest, and being Armani, they look good too.

I didn't see the hype about the foundation brush until I went for a makeover, but since then, I've been converted. Not to say that the foundation didn't work well when I was just using fingers, but using the brush gave an unparalleled finish. You use less product, but it blends better and gets into all those difficult areas, like around the nose. It's really a wonder. Yes, it is expensive, but I've washed mine a lot and it's as good as new every time.

I also have a gift set of travel sized brushes, and I'm particularly impressed with the blusher brush (incredibly soft) and the concealer brush.

When you're in London, I'd recommend you buy Armani at Harvey Nichols, not Selfridges. They seem to be less interested in Selfridges and it's always 10x busier. My favourite SA at Harvey Nichols was a makeup artist in Hong Kong for 10 years (I think?) and he got me hooked, and knows exactly what to recommend me. Since then, I've never looked back.

I only have one lipstick, a red one which is incredible. Really rich and creamy - you can build up the colour and good staying power.

Wow, the Gem collection looks really good! I'm looking for a good foundation brush, guess it's going to be Armani!

I used to use the foundation...cant remember which one but it made my skin really oily, I have combination skin...but it did job well just left me oily looking...

thank you miu_miu and karma !
Due to the extreme price difference I'm contemplating buying the foundation brush on ebay.. but .. I'm concerned that ebay might be drowing in fake GA brushes ?

^ I don't know about that I'm afraid, but I'll check it out.

What you might want to do is invest in a travel set. I hope they're still available, but I got one with a blusher brush, foundation brush, concealer brush and two eyeshadow brushes for £55 compared to around £40 for a full size foundation brush. This may have been special for Christmas though.

Also, they've made a new travel set of a foundation brush and foundation here. This seems like a pretty good deal too, in my experience, the foundations last forever. Although, if you can't get it in Denmark, it might work out better to get the full size.

I just had a look on ebay - the brushes look authentic, but I can PM you a picture of mine and the numbers on it, so that you can check against any you think about buying.

When will you be in London? Because I can also probably check to see if they have the travel sets still in store :flower:

Thank you miu_miu I'd really appreciate it if you could sent me a picture!

I'll be in London 16-19th of March.. if they still have the travel set then that's fine.. if not.. I have some pretty good brushes that will last me for some time.. (with the exception of a foundation brush), so please dont go to any trouble.

love! the foundations are great. i especially love fluid sheer #0, sheer lipstick #1, lip mania #8, eyeshadow #16 and blush #1 or #2...can't remember which one. i think they make me look fresh and glowy more than any other brand i've tried.

Every Armani product I've tried has been really wonderful. I love their foundation, its the best I've tried thus far and I'm always on the search for that perfect foundation. The Fluid Sheers are gorgeous and the lipsticks are incredible as well. Such creamy textures and they really last quite well.

There's an advert on the back of this month's Vogue UK for the Armani Movie Lights Compact! It looks so cool, it has little lights all the way around the mirror and some kind of compact powder inside.
