RIP Giorgio Armani (1934-2025)

Giorgio Armani’s absence will be felt. He understood that clothes should work for the person wearing them. While other designers chased attention with dramatic silhouettes, Armani focused on cut, proportion, and wearability. His jackets moved with the body. His colors didn't shout. He built a reputation on making people look polished without looking costumed.

Wow!
I was a bit prepared by the news with his absence during the menswear and Couture season.
What a legend. His legacy will live forever even if his vision will be missed.

Not a lot of designers have that gratification of being part of the history of fashion with a capital H. He is one of those. He also had a tremendous influence in the cultural/entertainment landscape.

He is designer that I appreciated quite late, when he started to do Couture in 2005. That’s where he expressed all the exhuberance and fantasy of his style. He was able to mix high drama with high elegance in the tradition of Haute Couture.

Ciao King Giorgio.

We have lost very important designers who have impacted the history of fashion in the last 10 years but it’s even more poignant when the designer was still active, like Azzedine and Karl. It really hits differently because they never gave up and devoted their lives to their creativity.
