Good Cashmere

I am a fan of Johnstons of Elgin. I have a thick black cashmere cardigan from them, I bought it last December and wore it all the time.. It's so comfortable you don't want to ever take it off! I am already looking forward to winter ^_^

Are they from the same factory of the Elgin Burberry cashmere?

I would have the same question like Allure. Is Benetton Cashmere good? Cause their prices are quite low, the cashmere super soft and lookwise, really good. My virgin wool Benetton pullovers are of good quality, but once I went Cashmere and Merino, it's hard to go back to Virgin Wool

Okay I do not know what they are like now but I am going to try and buy some this weekend...any way I went into my father's closet and found a bunch of Pringle sweaters (who knew? ) and they are THE BEST!!!!!! Soooooooo soft I think you should all buy some

Burberry

Does anyone know if Burberry's cashmere sweaters are as good as their scarves? I've had a scarf for YEARS (before they started looking tacky with the fakes) wearing and washing it constantly and have yet to see a pill. If their sweaters are as good, I'm sold.

I've never tried burberry cashmere but they do have some great pieces

Hi I am new here so not 100% sure that this name as been mentioned or not ???? anyway if you are in London Harrods has a very good range of TSE cashmere, but frankly I do not think it is that great for what you are paying for it. The best cashmere shop in London I think is called Belinda Robertson, she has a small but fantastic shop in Belgravia. It two lines one is much cheaper than the other the expensive line, all the cashmere is from Scottish mills and is beautifully soft. She does some really nice trendy styles!!!!!

The TSE cashmere I've seen at Lohemans (higher-end discount store) doesnt look very good. I havent tried any of them yet, but for a $50 sweater, it might be worth a try.

For $50 I cannot imagine what the quality would be like, in the U.K. a cashmere jumper made by TSE would cost in excess of £300.00/$600.00:o

Since Lohemans is a discount retailer, that’s not the original price, but I still wonder about the quality.

Benetton cashmere is good, I just bought this blue thick sweater and have been living in it ever since:lol: It's really comfortable, not itchy at all, really warm and the quality seems good to me, too. And only cost 75 euros!

^That's great. I went to Massimo Dutti the other day, and to my surprise they sell cashmere sweaters for 80€. I am going to give them a try.

I see that Zara started to sell Cashmere pullovers too. They're a bit see-through though, is that a real issue?

Charter Club cashmere isn't bad, even though it's definitely not in the price point of most of the cashmeres mentioned here. I've had my black turtleneck sweater for about two years, it hasn't pilled, and is really soft...although it can itch a bit around the neck--I think that's more because I accidently machine-washed and -dried it  and it shrank a little bit. I've felt more expensive cashmeres, including the ones at J.Crew and the brand Saks has, and haven't felt any difference between my sweater and theirs. I haven't had the opportunity to experience Loro Piana or Marc Jacobs' though.

most of my cashmere is from banana republic, and the quality is not what it used to be...most of the new sweaters are definitely more itchy and rough than before.

I sadly have to agree. I recently bought a BR cashmere sweater online. The tag says 100% cashmere but it feels a little too itchy and rough! I'm disappointed because their cashmere was a lot better a few years ago.

I was browsing Old Navy's site and I was surprised to see that they have a cashmere sweater and cashmere cardigan on sale. I love Old Navy for basics and I've noticed that they're upping their game lately. So I was wondering if anyone has any experience with their cashmere offerings? What is the quality like?

^ If BR's cashmere isn't good, then I can't imagine that Old Navy's is any better. They are owned by the same company but Old Navy is the cheaper brand.

I tried Jcrew's cashmere the other day. Very itchy and pretty unpleasant to wear. I want to try Brora next. I've only heard good things about their sweaters.

^ True but sometimes I find things at Old Navy that are a little better than similar BR and Gap offerings. So I was merely curious if anyone's experienced it IRL. Gap Inc. has been getting better the last few years, but it's probably not a place to buy cashmere... and that's to be expected at their price points.

Speaking of Benetton, my sister just bought a blue sweater that sounds similar to RRRoosa's and she wears it all the time. I'm going to ask her to look out for one in my size. :brows:
