I actually really liked tonight's ep...probably because Lily is one of my faves. And I like the way the Cali flashbacks were shot, the color contrasts were cool. The show is so stylish though...

@designerleather...yeah I think it's called A Beautiful Life, Deadline Hollywood wrote a lot of good things about the pilot so I think it will be good.

Im not a fan of Lily's character so I didn't like the episode as much.

I rather watch Chuck/Blair & Co. then Lily as a teen

I just had a problem with the continuity / feel of the ep. To put it better... I can relate and believe in Blake being Kelly's daughter. I could not buy Brittney being a younger Kelly.

So the question would then become who would have been better cast? Dunno. Maybe Olivia Wilde?

I agree, I would have rather seen someone different as Lily like Sara Roemer from Disturbia. She looks a lot like Blake, I thought they would go for that look more.

Boring episode Spin-off was a bad idea, imo.
Chuck is a sweete (wow, really, wow! It's sounds so wrong )

god i can't stand the eighties let alone a spin off show re-creating that era
thank goodness it was only in a small dosage
plus i thought no doubt would be on the show longer not i milli second

Am I the only one who actually liked that spin-off ?

I though that it was one of the most enjoyable episode of this season.I loved it,mostly because it was about Lily.I just wish CW give that Valley Girl a 1 season try.That would be cool.And chuck maked me go "aawww" during the prom.I love him !

I didn't mind the spin off bits, in fact I'd be interested in watching about Lili's past. however the over-the-top 80's stuff was really annoying and the casting for Lili was gawd awful. it made the show look cartoonish.

But I did find myself interested in how the van der woodsen and rufus love triangle played out back then. if they could re-cast it and give it some class I'd watch

Well being an 80s child... It was a cartoonish period. Leg warmers, oversized shirts, big belts, big hair, Z Cavaricci...

I did like No Doubt as the band.

I think had it been cast better, I would have been able to get into it more.

It is what it is.

More importantly, looks like the Lily/Rufus child will soon be making an appearance or at least be revealed

I liked the 80s flashback... found it quite enjoyable and I loved the tones used.

And Chuck was so sweet... I never though I'd say that, haha!

Not a fan of the flashbacks. I think it's silly that their prom ep was shared with the 80's flashbacks, it should've had an ep of it's own. So glad Nair is over. The forced disney like chemistry between them was painful to watch.

I really liked the episode though I feel like they should've dedicated a whole episode to the prom. But the Lily flashbacks were great so it was just a minor problem for me.

I wasn't too excited about this episode (only about Chuck's romantic deeds, once more.)
And I felt personally insulted when No Doubt raped Stand And Deliver. That was the most horrible version I ever heard and that includes my super-boozed interpretation at Karaoke night in Shamrock Irish Pub.

I want Georgina next week! Serena dances strange, but cute.
