Now here’s a thought that just might make your ascot go all askew: Chuck Bass, holding an Emmy.
The CW, home of shows like "Gossip Girl,""Smallville" and "America’s Next Top Model," has launched its first official Emmy campaign. Which means the network -- on the record -- wants the Emmy people to consider actors like Leighton Meester and Ian Somerhalder alongside the casts of, say, "Mad Men" or "Dexter" or "House M.D."
Now, for the record, nobody knows how to sling sexually laced double entendres while simultaneously riding in the back of a limo -- the CW equivalent of walking and chewing gum at the same time -- like Chuck Bass-portrayer Ed Westwick. But an Emmy? Really?
Actually, yeah. An Emmy. Really.
Observe while Preach it! makes its point and insults the fans of "House" at the same time:
The best thing about "House" isn’t the acting. It’s the writing. It’s watching Hugh Laurie spout lines like, “I know you’re in there; I can hear you caring.” Laurie routinely overplays such bon mots, and yet fans have been outraged year after year when he’s been passed over for an Emmy. Westwick, meanwhile, is given the same kind of love from his show’s writers, but he wisely underplays many of his lines instead of sending them over the top.

I hope this hasn't been posted before... .But it's so hilarious xD I love that line "Ok Courtney Love, shush it!" That's something they should totally put in the show, Blair could pull it off :D

^Haha. Blake's voice is one thing, but what really gets on my nerves is her mumbling.

One of her sisters - Robyn - was in an episode of The Mentalist recently. She's so much prettier than Blake and a better actress too (loved her on Savannah  ).

(I'm one of the few people that doesn't hate on Vanessa or Jenny/Taylor, but I could bash Blake anytime :innocent: )

^ Yup! When I first started watching I would record the show and realized I was constantly having to rewind to try and hear what she was saying! It thought it was the soundtrack in the beginning, but then I realized I could understand the others- it's hard to believe no one has addressed this with her over three seasons... :(

^ Glad you mentioned it- I need to order this!! :flower:

^ She was great - a real little minx!! Of course without Jenny around, I don't know how that would fit in...Vanessa (Jessica) was in Monaco at a TV convention representing GG, so I guess she will be back!:o And Michelle was at the CFDA last night (for some reason...)

From TV Fanatic...

We were thinking it would be fun to poll Gossip Girl fans on which hookup they would most like to see among the characters that the CW series has not already done.
Then we thought about it some more and realized there are only two (not counting Dan-Jenny and excluding Eric, for obvious reasons) such combinations remaining:
  • <LI itxtvisited="1">Chuck and Serena
  • Dan and Blair
Yup, they've tried everything else. Nate? He's obviously slept his way through the UES. But Vanessa has even gotten with the three dudes at one point or another.
Would anyone want to see these two couples, though? Even just once? Chair is sort of the bedrock of the show, and Dan and Serena have a lot of fan support, too.
Mix them up and you'd have crazy scandal ... maybe that would stop Gossip Girl. Or it'd be just what the producers want. Remember Jenny and Chuck? Just saying.

Here we go- just got an e mail.... ;)

This message is to inform you that a DVD for GOSSIP GIRL: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON (2010) will be released on August 24, 2010.

^ Really? They'll be starting Season Four here soon...
Now the useless CW Network is skipping several weeks of the story on their Monday night reruns...I missed a few weeks last Fall and wanted to catch up, and now I can't... :(

^ Yea Germany is always horribly late with airing US series. Probably cause all that dubbing (which is so poorly done in the case of GG) takes forever... I don't know! I always watch it online anyway :p
