Hi, was in Tokyo recently. Visited Loveless and saw they carried a lot of this label named Green.

Does anyone have any information about this label?

it's by Hideaki Yoshihara and Yukiko Ode who used to be a stylist.
seems like it's about functionality and beauty.
they are good at arrangeing uniform/workwear exquisitely.
in a way, Tokyo speciality now
there is their own nice store in Ebisu/Daikanyama area.

Thanks for the information.
How long has the label been around? What is the label's positioning against other labels, what other labels would you say are in the same level? How is the label perceived by others?

they have been around since the late 90's.
"positioning against other labels" sounds a bit too difficult for me.
have no idea. they seem to make clothes, being attentive to every detail from sort of stylist point of view.
seemingly it may not look so special.
but it's something that in reality you cannot see anywhere else.
that kind of difference is subtle. but they do it just right and the very thing some people have needed is born. it's not loud.
recently they have been showing it on the runway. they have to make lots of clothes other than denim and khakis.
so, that should be their challenge.
stores carrying labels like sacai would buy it.
actually you'd see it sold next to sacai, the price ranges close.
generally it is perceived as real clothes suitable for Tokyo life at present, for example.
there are cool working women visiting their store around its closing time.

S/S 09 is their last season for the time being.
and the ebisu/daikanyama store(s) is to be closed at the end of june.
though they say it's maternity leave and that they want to be back in a few years.
still, I guess there is a possibility of this being the last chance to get their classics.
