Gucci Cruise 2017 London

This is just too tacky, his initial charm and attraction has worn off. He is just a one trick pony.

this is so much Alessandro meets Andreas Kronthaler

I have never been a fan of large shows; I believe in a condensed 35 to 40-look collection as a herald of what's going to be in stores. But since there's no story here - only over-designed pieces, I guess piling them all on models and sending them down the runway is the only way to go.

I really applaud him for overhauling Gucci and making it relevant again, but he is a very clever stylist and not a designer. It all looks very arts & craftsy - put a bow here, put a ruffle there. Some of the items are very covetable indeed, depending on personal style, but that's all there is - embellished basics with the sole purpose of selling. It's a shame that there isn't more design.

tried watching the video and the music was great - the "Scarborough Fair" rendition is gorgeous - but I couldn't watch more than a few minutes because GOD I am so tired of the grouchy lifeless model schtick!! It's so, so boring and lazy! I don't need a Naomi Campbell moment, but I would really like to see some actual joy on the runway again instead of this sulking mess!

I don't know. I doubt a sexy casting would work for this if that's what you mean.
I am all for a good casting but the Gucci models look exactly like the kind of people who'd wear that kind of clothes so..

Lately, Gucci's shows makes me wanna cry. To think how amazing this brand used to be just a few seasons ago. It's crazy how much it has changed.
Now it's literally the same thing every show, and it's not even good. I hate what this brand has become.

Frida=Amazing?:rolleyes:

This guy and Frida are the same: stylists. But there is a little bit more substance in Alessandro's case.

And I agree that he's one trick pony, but that's how fashion works these days. You have to create an aesthetic and go for it: Dolce, Valentino, Sint Laurent, Vetements...

Fashion is SH!T as of late.

96 looks its just TOO MUCH

if he only took maybe 5,10 ideas and used them to create something coherent. it would look better.

^Seriously! I liked some of the ideas that were presented, but 96 f*cking looks? That's just too much.

I really don't mind about this new Gucci girl/guy, the clothes talk to me, I'd buy, and for sure they will make a lot of profit, but what makes me sad is that we will never see that old house again... Why this have to happen to Gucci? I really wanted this transformation happening in another brand....

I like him doing this new country for the season thing, like Chanel
This show I'd certainly have some things I'd go for

I love what Alessandro Michele does.
I hated the first collection , except loafers i was in love with the loafers from the first moment i saw them on the photos
But the models are overstyled , it is not necessary anymore to send on the runway all pieces which they have to sell during the show( exactly this was during Cruise show)

Agree with@Lola but
I don't find anything really exciting about it because i know that by the time this collection will be in stores, i can buy most of it now.

but same time it is good, can buy what you like ( but also many items in online stores are sold out at the same day or must call Gucci and ask if it is possible to have some item in this or this size. Michele's Gucci start be some Symbol, it is a Lifestyle, something between Hermes, Chanel,Dior, LV and Zara as example.
Gucci is not overspriced like Balmain or better, as another Hype brand- Vetements.
