Gucci Cruise 2024 Seoul

Smells like "design team" (aka. make a living out of the remnants from former creative directors).

PLUS some streetwear sporty things here and there, just to make it look "young and fresh" (aka. exec mentality).

Wow, the singular point-of-view of an artistic director is severely underestimated and undervalued as is evidenced here in this disaster of a collection.

When Frida left and Alessandro stepped in for that first collection, you could tell that whoever was in charge had a very strong vision. It had potential.

This show is what happens when too many people in the team have competing and confusing ideas and nobody has the sense to step up and curate the collection to make it more streamlined.

What is shocking to me is the fact that it only takes one person leaving (Alessandro) for the whole thing to fall apart within such a short amount of time. It just goes to show how important Michele really was as the driving force behind the brand.

I like certain pieces and the idea of some of them, but I hate the entirety of the full looks and the way they're styled.

I get it, in that Suzanne Koller kind of way because only she can do what she does. It just feels dated and very 2016-2018 when everyone really tried to make skin tight sportswear a viable fashion trick. Lends itself to looking more Marine Serre than Gucci. Something very wholesale about it.

And barely anything in the collection looks glamorous...or even sophisticated. I'm anxious to find out if the rumors are true?? A.M.being chosen as creative director for the late Walter Albini.

If onelooks at each look indivisually there are about 3-4 decent ones but otherwise its amixed bag of disaster.

So bad indeed, I don’t get the surf boards or wet suits or even why show it in Seoul? I get it that Korean people now are very into in your face branded luxury but to bring people like Karen Elson there to show this mess just don’t make sense.

Almost painful to scroll through on Vogue Runway to save and upload those images. What a truly dreadful collection, that did not warrant everyone's time and effort in traveling to South Korea. The sooner Gucci ditches this diabolical Michele aesthetic the better - for ALL of us!
Barely any of this...is representative of AM's aesthetic. It's more in line with Demna/Balenciaga with all the oversized proportions. Demna is considerably lots of black... but here....it's colorful.
