Hamish Morrow S/S 07 London

The shapes are a bit off for me but it's not terrible and perhaps like other people have said he needs a bit of time get into his groove (his spell in designing some rather heinous sportswear is something I'd rather forget about....). And in the miso soup, I'm glad someone else found London more interesting. I'm not being patriotic or anything (IMO Paris rules the fashion weeks) but I'm kiind of sick of people bashing London all the time.... cut us some slack man!

well
he is and has always been a great cutter, ill give him that.
but im judging this by the standards he has set for himself.
he was always about the new and the innovative
thats what i loved about him
but this seems to fall way short to me. the fabrics look cheap
and that miniskirt "thingie" should have been edited out of the collection altogether.
iam just hope next season is better,. as he is too good a designer to dismiss
Amids't all of this it's good to see him back

welcome back Mr. Morrow welcome back.................

im not a londoner but i agree.besides some of the most influential ppl in fashion are from london. (galliano,McQueen, chalayan, Anna wintour)
some of the greatest fashion trends are from london
the man who invented the idea of collections and haute Couture was a londoner (Charles Frederick Worth).
london also gives us something that no other fashion city does, a slew of independent designers that are utterly creative, original and not bouyed down by the commercial pressures of other cities (NY& milan) to produce bland and uncreative "safe" clothing
while clothing ultimately has to be sold and worn and businesses have to be profitable to survive, for the industry to move forward there has to be designers trying something new and different. and such is the beauty of london fashion

susie, of course you are not alone
i also much prefer London to NY where everyone was just re-doing Chloe & Balenciaga, that was my whole point in praising Hamish's collection

..browse back to read my post.. ;)
