Harris Reed S/S 2024 London

I have to admit I love the presentation. The clothes on the other hand are embarrassing, puckered seams, fabrics not sitting well, bumps on the side seams of the pants etc. They were ambitious with the couture like cuts but forgot that the most important part with that style is having a perfect finish. Nobody cares about the drama and volume if its sloppy. The tolerable looks are 1, 3 and the second look on the second row.

I wonder if Harris Reed is the stand in replacement for Gareth Pugh as the industry grew tired of him, much like how Alex Consani is the model industry replacement for Teddy Quinlivan.

It's getting better, but it still isn't great. There's just so much buckling in the fabrics and seams, which has been a constant problem from them and not sure if it will ever be rectified in a timely manner. I'd like to see them make a collection or two (or pieces) where things are stripped right back. Mainly to see if their point of view can actually be carried over without the visual theatrics and if their skills are really up to snuff.

What happened to Gareth Pugh in the end? Did he go out of business?

From what I've seen, he does costumes for the National Ballet and similar stints, which is very much up his alley. Still works collaboratively with SHOWStudio every now and then too. Just a shame the industry didn't support him enough in the end as his design ethos would have responded very well with the current fashion fanatics and the like, but is far more genuine.

Mind you, wouldn't be surprised if he got sick of it and wanted to expand to other things, which is also understandable.

The industry was quite hard on him towards the end, especially in the heights of intellectual pragmatism in the early/mid 10s. At least he's enjoying himself.
