headband help

i am looking for a headband... black... preferaby 1.5 inches wide... not sure of material, but no velvet or satin. like black lacquered plastic or tortoise or something? i know i saw a few in some magazines a few months ago...

i checked sephora, ulta (which has one that is out of stock), nordstrom wiht no luck... and the cvs/target/drug stores definately don't carry them.

but i'm wondering: have you seen them in stores anywhere?

i got one of those from one of those little cart things that sell hair stuff at the mall. they came in all these different colors and they were shiny plastic and they were about that wide

Try drugstores or Target or even dollar stores. Also Urban Outfitters has some but they are around $18.

I'd love to find a good fitting headband. They are either too tight (resulting in head-ache) or too lose (resulting in your head looking way too round).

I guess just wrapping lose material around your head (and tie it under the hair line) is a good substitute.

I tend to just use grosgrain ribbon or a cut up pair of tights as a headband.

Stupid question and I can't believe I'm asking this, but when you guys wear headbands, do you have it over or behind your ears....because my ears stick out loads when I put it behind!
