Hello My First Skirt Ever Made

Hello Im a student majoring in Fashion design and my final project for my first semester was a denim skirt, for out sketching Class we had to draw 60 thumbnail sketches and the teachers would sign 6 that they taught I was capable of since I was a beginner. Two skirts got th emost signatures and the one I like the best was this one. When I sketch this I thought about the American Flag and British one at the same time, I could see this in Delia's Catalouge and Maybe just maybe Urban Outfitters, I got an B on my overall presentation and how well it was close to my sketch. I got alot of good comments and a few bad but hey thats fashion. Tell me guys what you think and also how do you sell an idea to a company. Here is the Sketch and skirt!

it's nice, but as far as wearability, im not so sure. i dont think it would fit well on an actual model because of the detailing you put on it. you have to think about wearablilty and movement of both the wearer and the fabric when you construct something.....

funny thing too, is that i looked at your pics before i read what you wrote and first thing that popped into my head was CONFEDERATE FLAG . sometimes the designers ideas dont always come through the same way to the viewer or buyer.........
