how is the quality of helmut's footwear?
I also heard that 2 stores in the city, rollo and nida, stock hl, can someone verify this for me?

"The city" as in San Francisco? If you mean San Francisco, Nida carries Helmut Lang clothing, it's possible the Nida store on Union carries shoes. Gimme Shoes carries Helmut Lang.

yeah i meant san fran, thanks .
which gimme shoes is it do you know?
i believe they have a couple stores

I believe all 3 have Helmut Lang. I'm at the one downtown most often though, so I'm most certain about that one. I also think that they have a better selection of women's HL than men's.

I haven't been to Rolo all that much lately but I think the one in the Castro has HL men's shoes.

quality was good pre-Prada.
quality is now OK, of course it took a decline with Prada ownership.
they still have nice leather soles, although i have noticed a lot of glued soles...previously many were stitched, again, Prada uses mainly glued (cheaper) soles.....
i'd only buy helmut shoes on sale or if you are buying a pair for the design only...they are many better options at that pricepoint qualitywise.

They carry HL shoes at Neiman Marcus on Union Square. I checked them out the other day...quality seems ok.

Nida store in Hayes Valley has the men's clothing. IMO, Gimmieshoes in Hayes Valley has the best selection, but they told me that they rotate stock between all 3 stores.

I never paid attention to the quality of the shoes, though, as I don't like pointy toes (which means I don't look at the shoes closer) and that's what Helmut has been doing.

although I only know Lang's shoes made by Ludwig Reiter, they were well-made.

No, they run one size bigger.

I thought the heels reminiscent of horse hooves were delightful. :P
