I really do need help. I am very much 'style-challenged'.
Here is my situation. On a Roleplaying Forum (http://rpol.net) I've been asked to play a very powerful villain to challenge a team of super heroes. That's not too difficult - I've been roleplaying for more than fifteen years, and I can express myself well in the written medium.
The difficult part is deciding what his trademark outfit will look like. Remember one thing: super heroes and super villains only change costumes once every few years, when a new design team is assigned to produce the comic. And my idea for an outfit is so embarrassing that I just won't mention it here, other than to say that it looks like something from a 1975 comic book.
This villain, whom I've dubbed 'Gigawatt', has a gamut of electrically oriented powers. He can throw electrical bolts capable of turning a truck to a molten puddle (and if anyone has an interesting idea for the color/shape/sounds of these electrical bolts, I'd love to hear them). He can become living lightning, ride through the electrical lines and even into buildings through the electrical wiring, enter computers to communicate with them directly, and more. But electricity, whether neon blue, shocking silver, or some other plausible hue is his motif.
So his costume should lend him drama, and make him look larger-than-life. I had imagined a tall mask to add to his height. But when I started thinking about black dyed snake or alligator hide and silvery, zig-zag lightning bolts on his costume, I stepped back and decided he'd look more comical than threatening in my conception.
Please lend me your ideas. I'd like to thank everybody in advance for their time and effort.
