Henry Cavill

If it´s anything like 300 I think I´ll like it, it looks very entertaining... I guess I like this type of movies :)

I've seen 20 minutes of it and it isn't as bad as you might think. It's not going to earn any great awards but it's not totally appalling. More importantly, it's not going to do either Henry or Luke's careers any harm and if I'm honest that's all I care about.

Are you sure about this? Because it doesn't look like it will earn back its production budget (which was pretty big for a not-so-famous cast) and that's not good news.

Yes I am. The consensus is that even if the film bombs it's raising both of their profiles, particularly Henry's (Luke has a bucket load of projects at various stages of development) ahead of Superman. It's also preferable to do that though his work and not his private life, unlike some young actors & actresses. People won't remember box office figures unless it truly pulls a Norbit, which it won't, (the majority of the general public don't honestly care or sit watching weekend grosses come in) but they will remember the image from the film. Yes, getting the role of Superman has and will continue to keep his profile highlighted but it still has to be underpinned with something and right now, putting Supes aside, he's still most famous for The Tudors and not becoming Bond. He also has Cold Light of Day coming out, another film in which he plays something of an "action" hero, both that and Immortals serve to back up his image as they move towards completion on the Superman role. It's about building momentum leading into such an iconic role in a huge, hopefully, franchise. I could write an essay on this but it would only get removed by mods again. I hope I've explained enough, it's not easy to explain without pulling you into the office to show you what were up to! Plus I'm still hungover from last night's Mortenbender so I hope all that makes some sense!:flower:

^No, I get what you're saying (and you're the expect) I'm just thinking about if producers/movie studios will think he's un-bankable? Of course, it's only one movie and I'm being premature here, I was just wondering how certain you were about your statement.

I didn't want to come off as pulling rank or anything! You make a good point, they've put a lot of money and a lot of faith into Immortals with no guaranteed return, it is a risk, arguably the most high profile cast member is Mickey Rourke. I like this forum because people make sensible comments & raise serious points unlike others! *cough* IMDB *cough* I think everyone knows how much is riding on Man of Steel, look what happened to Brandon Routh and any way that that can backed up is a good thing. It's about getting people to see, essentially, an action star isn't it? He's showed his range, we all saw The Tudors and how he went from cocky womaniser to an old man haunted by his actions so I don't think there's any question mark over what he's capable of. But because he doesn't play the publicity game with his private life either, there has to be more to building an image. Personally I'd like to see the work he did with Dunhill replicated but with a bigger, more recognisable label. He's had something of a relationship with Gucci in the past, attending a few of their events, he's worn more than a few Gucci suits, I think possibly he'd be a good fit there, ironically, a good replacement for James Franco!

^^I didn't mean it as a bad thing :flower:

I do hope that Immortals does well boxoffice-wise, because I fear it won't be critically well-received. I would LOVE Henry for Gucci. Basically, Henry in suits :woot:

littlepaperstars thank you so much for your thoughtfull and intelligent comments, I really appreciate your input on this site. Thank you:flower:

I think a campaign with Gucci would be fantastic, hopefully they would halp him with his pants problem, such a shame that such a beautiful man does not know how to dress. Although I think Gucci loves James Franco right know and then I believe they have the Captain America actor for their perfume campaign with Evan Rachel Wood.

I do not think Henry fits the Gucci brand, they try to be a bit more edgy and sexy and Henry with Superman coming up has to be clean cut and a bit square - unfortunately.

^Do we really care? Any excuse to go shirtless is fine by me :woot:

He's so ripped :woot::lol:! The "300" workouts must be brutal. Another friend of mine spotted him in Downtown along Burrard street but wasn't sure because she had to go to work.

It's impossible for one man to be this beautiful. I just can't breathe when I look at him.

I'm still not convinced by Immortals but I don't care because even if he looks like a crazy bulky homeless guy on those pictures from the Man of Steel, he still looks super fine.
