I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, so I'm sorry if I did, but I'm wondering if any of you could help me with some fashion advice.

Here's the thing: I love my comfort and really don't need to wear dressy clothes in my daily life. But I would like to add some spice to my wardrobe for the fall, and I haven't been able to find anything I really like (and am also at a loss as to what retailers to shop at - I prefer etailers).

Anyway, this might sound ridiculous, but I have acne that isn't horrible, but bothers me so much. My neck, chest and upper arms break out so I always want to cover them up. Plus for fall, I love my turtlenecks because I live in a really cold area when winter comes.

Can any of you suggest some new looks for me and places to shop? I'm 5'7.5 and pretty slim, and am looking mostly for new tops/sweaters since I'm pretty set in the jeans/pants department.

I'd appreciate any advice you might have for me. Thank you! :)

hello , well its hard because i dont really know where you live.
But have you thought of trying a sort of boho, gypsy look ? Because you can cover up with some of that stuff + get it cheap but not over the top so it can just add some spice.
And try to accecorise ! It can add a bit of spice into an outfit aswell.
Sorry i`m not an overly huge help.

oh, about the acne-
if you've had it for a long time- and it stays there- then get proactiv, stop eating junk food, and exercise.
if it just breaks out occasionally, eat healthier. and exercise always helps. but in terms of make-up:
whatever you do, do not pancake your face in order to cover up blemishes.
that will make blemishes worse. if you're having a bad day, dab a bit of concealer on and run with it. it's not that big a deal.

and as for clothes- set yourself a budget of how much you want to spend, first; then make a list of your essentials.don't think about trends you like, think what you need to get: a new pair of jeans? a black sweater? a nice skirt? a white shirt?
get these items as high-quality as your location allows for a reasonable price.
then, with the rest of your money, go crazy on trends.
that's the way to do it.

Thanks! I'm in Western NY, which is not exactly a great place to shop. We have your usual department stores and a few OK stores in our biggest mall, but I really would rather just buy online. So many nicer and more fashionable items are online.

I am a black junkie, and wear a lot of black tops/sweaters. I prefer darker colors, so I was thinking maybe some tops in a rich burgundy or something like that.

I'm as pale as Nicole Kidman, with blue eyes and blonde hair, so lighter colors sometimes wash me out.

The acne is such a long story. I've had it for years and have tried Proactiv and just about every single over-the-counter and Px available short of Accutane. It all comes down to really oily skin that is hard to keep under control. The only makeup I wear on my face is a little oil-free concealer and a dusting of powder.

Hope this helps you out with my background a bit more. Any other suggestions would be great!
