$1,200 in lip gloss stolen from Victoria's Secret at the Nanuet Mall

NANUET - An estimated $1,200 worth of lip gloss was stolen during the weekend from the Victoria's Secret store at the Nanuet Mall, Clarkstown police said today.

The theft of 74 small tubes of Beauty Rush likely happened Saturday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., police said. The store reported the theft yesterday.


The lip gloss was in a bin inside the store. Police were reviewing surveillance tape footage for clues, Sgt. Harry Baumann said.

Victoria's Secret has become a popular target for thieves during the past several months.

Tens of thousands of dollars worth of bras, panties, lingerie and other undergarments have been stolen from the Nanuet store and various other branches at the Palisades Center in West Nyack and Westchester County.

Police have speculated that some of the stolen items are eventually sold on the Internet, Baumann said.
