Faces. No matter what and no matter which culture, genetic variation will always conspire to create a human face that feels like a story in and of itself. Take for instance the face on Chinese model Hou Jinxiang. Discovered working in an antique store, this 17 year old found himself fast-forwarded straight onto the set of Numero China for his first editorial. Legend had it that the team was in cold sweats given the scope of the gamble they were undertaking. Then the very shy boy who had never modeled and spoke very little on set , faced the camera with so much composure and self-possession that a cover star was born. Faces. We will always need them in fashion.
