How Lucrative Are Small Fashion Lines?

I know it varies but in general how much can small fashion lines/designers make? For example the designers featured on Shopflick like:

Cleobella
Miss Misa
Naven
Raquel Allergra......

I'm just curious because a lot of smaller fashion lines seems to come and go which makes me think they hard to maintain if your not a big fashion house.

Really at the end of the day it comes down to your overheads, and the fact that business in general is difficult to start up. I think the saying goes 50% of businesses fail in their first year and 95% fail in the first three years.. or something to that extent.

It really depends on how you approach it. I know one bridal designer who makes a 6 figure salary because she keeps it small but has the reputation to charge the higher prices, whereas some companies need to be selling millions before the designer can start cutting themselves a cheque...

It really depends on the individual situation

Thanks so much for responding. I had given up on getting a response LOL. I just wanted to get a general idea but it sounds like small fashion houses are the same as most small businesses. For some reason I thought they'd have a higher success rate.
