i-D February 2009 : Anne Vyalitsyna and Boyd Holbrook by Matt Jones

always, the one trend that never dies!

I think that's a bit narrow way to look at it, this is i-D, the king/queen of cheeky and cheesy, as with last feb. cover. Try to look at it from i-D's tounge-in-cheek viewpoint and don't take it so serious, I doubt they do. It's the menswear-issue. No, the "manhood issue", and the cover is very much a play on, and an i-Dishing (new word!!!) of typical mens magazine covers.

Oh, and I haven't seen this posted yet:

is this out ?

^ Not that I am aware of. January issue was still in stores yesterday :flower:

please tell me this is not out in the uk yet...i still need to pick up the january issue!! :(

^i don't know if that was the point ...
but it really reminds me the Terry Richardson/Tom Ford campain in a funnier way ... a lot more natural ... and more sane ... like a couple with no power games ...
i liked TerryxTom ... and i like its opposite ...

It reminds me of that campaign and mens' magazines as well. But this picture is like an outtake or captured off-camera moment from those shoots. I love it!

^i can't wait either ...
not out yet ?! it's on ebay, it's on their website ....
and not on newsstands ?
c'mone c'mone iD ...
when are their issue normally get out ?

It is a interesing cover; Boyd manages to pull off the very salmon pink suit nicely, although it is still a little strange:p Well, it looks as if Anna is enuinely perfectly comfortable being completely free of clothing around Boyd, yay for her! ^_^ The quick outline given by ElectricAlyce makes this issue sound very interesting, especially the Freja feature! :woot:

Agreed, a lesbian cover would be so much better.

And ID is just the place to do that, I mean even Itakian Vogue did it! Was that actually the first lesbian cover on a fashion magazine? Anyone know? I think its becomeing the next unconventional trend. Because we need to break the heterosexual stigma.

Although I agree with the "more lesbians"-dogma... what about the gays?

Given that this month is the "men's issue", lesbians on the cover would run the risk of i-D repeating the same cheap thrills other mags use to sell their product to men - there seem to be plenty of "lesbians" on the cover of men's magazines.

So it would probably be a successful sales tactic for this issue, but it would have little to do with furthering a fantastic new media representation of lesbians.

This month, forget the girls - in an ideal world, I'd like to see i-D use every inch of its visual skill to sell a men's issue to all men, with two men on the cover, one perhaps naked.

^i would defenetely like a two boys cover .... and especially one naked....
:shifty::brows:

anyway last year was two girls (lily and ?) ... it wasn't openly lesbian ... but *warning : cliché's coming* i always thought women have imagination when it comes to this ....
obviously women have to have imagination to understand the VI cover is a "lesbian" cover ...

Yes, I must have no ladygaydar, because when I saw the VI cover, I didn't register anything of the sort, until people later said, though I liked the cover, regardless of its sexual orientation.

So I guess now this issue is already out?
Could someone post a review?:flower:
