i-D Pre-Spring 2011

^ I know, right?. Ajak's cover is by far my favorite as I feel it captures that typically i-D energy. The rest aren't doing it for me, it just feels like every time they release something, they really want to make up for the monthly cut-off and cater to just about every existing taste and none of their covers turn out as 'dense' and creative as they used to be. Pity. And I hope the 4 issues per year info isn't true.. if it is, they should then consider to go all the way and make i-D bi-annual, better doing that than having to be on the edge and delivering rushed stuff like this.

I neeeeed Hedi's cover. I really like Ajak's cover but it's a bit *too* sue catwoman for my taste. I wish it was subtlier i guess.

I really don't understand how in the past i-D released outstanding monthly covers and now then can't make a decent quarterly cover anymore...

totally agree, especially when they have so many covers every time and yet they're not good enough

I don't understand why they have to do so many covers for one issue, especially since those covers are totally separated and un-related. It's like they throw everyone who are featured inside the magazine onto the cover. If they do multi covers, I prefer something more or less has some relation or similar concepts, just like the September issue back in 2005 or the 12 covers in 2009.
For this particular issue, I don't feel too much for each cover, and the nude cover is just ridiculous, what's the point of that one cover? I don't get it.
Hope the content will be good.

This is one bad-a** cover. Very striking! At first, I thought it was Alek Wek even if her name is in the thread title already.:D Her lips are absolute perfection.

I dont mean to be rude or offesive, but when we put a ethnic minority on a cover, why can we not represent that beauty in its fullest extent? why not seislee, jourdann, alek, liya, du juan, why must i-d put somebody who is so unfamiliar and badly styled on the cover?

WOW.

Ajak is doing a pretty damn fine job of represting her beauty on this cover, so what if it's not up to typical eurocentric standards of beauty?

^ i totally agree, her beauty is not eurocentric or typical or expected and i adore her, but i feel like her look is played out in the industry. I love these covers i just dont care for how she is styled in that first image.

Vanessa`s cover won me over! Amazing. The rest is just forced. I don`t understand the need to publish tons of covers. The one with the fold out is nice to but I wish that they didn`t put a logo on the flip page

None of the covers have an ounce of appeal. Even the naked one, which has the most potential. It's awfully awkward and lifeless. Then the cover with Kirsi and Rose looks like an attempt to re-create a Benetton campaign. Although I think I'll be going for the naked cover, for the casting.

Love the naked cover, mostly cause I love all those girls so much, hope theres more pics inside of them together!:D

It's taken a group of great girls and made them look like idiots, because of the awkwardly staged wink - surely there's a wittier way of covering the eye, especially in a nude shot where so much else is being strategically hidden.

With the hand, Erin just looks like she's suddenly forgotten something - or despairs of being part of the whole project.

Maybe they'll all look much better when we see them for real.
