i-D Spring 2015 : Natalie Westling by Willy Vanderperre

oh this is confusing, it feels like the rihanna issue just came out.
it's not a bad cover, it's very 90s, it works, but it looks like it's another youths!!!! oriented issue so i'll probably pass once again

Natalie!! It's too normcore for my liking. This reminds me of her last Dazed cover with Binx.

Yay Natalie ! She totally corresponds to the aesthetics of this magazine in my opinion. This cover may be too simple for others, but I do love that.

I've seen this a thousand times. I knew what it was going to look like before I opened the thread.

that black frame needs to go. otherwise nice but i've seen this like a zillion times already. it almost feels like a neverending ongoing series of portraits by willy in different magazines.

Very fresh-faced, it's nice. I used to be a fan of this magazine but it seems to lost it's spark and the price increase is unnecessary.

The i-D logo feels slightly heavy but I love the cover shot!

Well isn't this just gorgeous. Natalie is so pretty and Willy can do no wrong.

And I know the wink is an i-D thing, but they should get rid of it.

Weird that we all just now felt the need to comment on how old the winking portraits have gotten, but I had the same exact thought the same upon seeing this. It's done, over, exhausted, I don't even want to click on this thread anymore.

Magazines should STOP ruining their covers by putting their huge logos right in the model's face.

happy for natalie :D after she didn't show up at fashion week i'm glad she has a cover.... but there's nothing new about the cover

I don't mean to take it out on one magazine, but why is everything so boring? Am I getting to old for fashion?

I feel ya.

I think woman's fashion magazines definitely cater to a younger/more teen demographic these days. So maybe that's it?

^^I'm with you too. But I don't think that's the problem. I feel that they don't even try anymore. There's no passion, I don't see the will to create something fresh, new things... Maybe it's because these magazines are run by people who have been in the business for too long and are already tired and blasé.

And we all now how fashion magazines and design studios work. You have to say 'YES' to everything, everything has to look fabulous or if you think it doesn't you might get in trouble... The scoop for action for those who aren't big names is very little.

But what is even more surprising is that they don't try in a world where fashion magazines are less and less important. It should be quite the contrary. Although it's true many glossies are focusing more and more in those awful webs, since the amount of money they get from them is insane (more if they are written in Spanish, Chinese or English, now even Portuguese). But it shouldn't be the reason for the awful content they are producing either.
