Hey everyone. I would really appreciate some advice on an outfit...

I have a special event at school, and I'm planning to wear a clean-cut white button down shirt and navy dress pants (they're almost black with faint stripes). I really like the outfit, but it's a bit... too office-y. Any ideas for accessorizing so that I still look formal but not too conservative? I was thinking about wearing a decorative scarf or something, but I'm not really sure how to make it work.

I'm 16, by the way. Thanks so much for your help! ^_^

u can try wearing a long bead chain necklace... length until below yr bosom.
or scarf will do too, just drap it one...
try to use the same color as yr pants...

Ahem.

Id do red, a blue-based red. Long necklaces are in but getting tired, you could always do a long red beaded necklace. Or a red scarf tied around your neck, or if its long enough use it for a sash on your pants.

Thanks for your help! I do have a red, orange and black (mostly red) scarf that I think I'll just tie loosely around my neck. I think it looks pretty sophisticated

And maybe try wearing a brightly coloured shoe..or even patent shoes for an unexpected touch

If it was me in that outfit, and it sounds like something I would wear, I'd dress it up with some gold jewellry. Some intricate chandelier earrings and some thin gold bangles would make it more 'special'.

i think this would look great with ur outfit....I think it's only like $20 from http://www.vervette.com
they carry a lot of unique stuff, they're one of my favorite places to buy accessories online

Yes throw on a Banana Republic sweater vest, a wide belt OR a button up shrinked vest
