I would choose to be mandy moore. Not the most famous or sought after, but she seems to have a great balance of everything.

Right now I say SJP because look at all the fab clothes so gets to wear to various events and all the clothes she got to wear on Sex and the City. Plus she has a beautiful husband and son and she seems like a really cool person.

I like being me. I wouldn't want to be anyone else.
But my favorite celebs would be Keira Knightley and Evangeline Lilly. They're cool. Keira seems like a lot of fun, is probably the most talented of young actresses, and is really beautiful. Evangeline is very giving person, has had so many amazing things happen to her, and is still very grounded and real. Kate Bosworth is also also beautiful, talented, and intelligent, and is dating Orlando Bloom. So any of those three, though, as I said before, I wouldn't trade for the world.

That said I'd say my celeb icons are probably Emmy Rossum and Claire Danes. Both are very intelligent and attractive young women who take their careers seriously but don't live a "holloywood" lifestyle. Both have made education a priority and cultivated other talents (Claire as a dancer and Emmy as a singer) and both have a great sense of personal style. They seem to dress in ways that reflect who they are and images they want to project.

So those are qualities I hope I have even though I don't want to "be" them

I agree with Lostgirl. I'm happy being myself. But looking for qualities of any celebrity I'd go for Natalie Portman. She's smart and intelligent and got good grades at school etc. (I hear anyway.) She seems to have a good perspective on things. And she looks lovely in basically any haircut. And she worked with Hugo Weaving. I would love to work with Hugo Weaving.
