WHATSAPP, IMAAN? 15 QUESTIONS FOR A MODEL UP-AND-COMER
BY MO ANWAR
Imaan Hammam. You better repeat that name a few times, ’cause Imaan’s about to enter the supermodel-sphere. The 17-year-old Hammam (born and raised in Amsterdam) was only 16 when she had the honor of opening the Givenchy show two seasons ago.
A few Vogue editorials (with major photographers like Steven Meisel and Terry Richardson) and major runways (Dior, Prada, and Reed Krakoff among them) later, Hammam can count herself as a rising star.
“I never dreamed of becoming a model. I was approached by a few casting agencies, but I never took it seriously until I met Code Management, which is the agency that started my career in Holland and represents me now,” says Hammam. Her signature traits, as described by Style.com/Arabia, are her impeccable skin and almond-shaped eyes.
Imaan comes from a modern family and was raised with Moroccan and Egyptian cultures. Her unique heritage, combined with her Dutch attitude and work ethic, truly make her stand out as a model of today. She believes in contributing to the need for global diversity and has her eyes set on a bright future, not only as a fashion model but also as a role model for young girls.
Below, check out the solution when both a model and a journalist are traveling a lot and don’t have time to schedule an appropriate one-on-one interview.
