Interview February 2016 : Owen Wilson by Gregory Harris

Glad to see him getting some attention during this Zoolander promo stuff, insanely talented guy.

I want to like it but I can't. There's something about the contrast that hurts my eyes.

Owen reminds me of Robert Redford here. Not to mention he looks the same age as Redford in that unflattering cover shot!

Totally! :D

I´m also glad that he´s not in character. Loving the layout as well
Everything looks so manly...

That is what a nightmare cover looks like to me, he has a harsh face as it is, but to highlight it even worse? No thanks! I don't need pretty boys only on my covers, but at least make it appealing, anyone who has seen his movies know that he has plenty of charm, and talent, its lost here!

He looks really rough. I don't think that high contrast was a good idea.

A drunken brawl outside of a nightclub!! OMG SOOOO EDGY & BADASS!!11 #YOLO #THUGLIFE

Took the words right out of my mouth! Not sure whether his face is very dirty, or sunburnt. His face looks the same texture as that denim shirt and leder jacket.

I do like the fact that Owen is the focus here but I don't like the overly grittiness of every single shot. When I see Owen, I prefer to see happy & energetic, he just looks a bit sad here.

The grittiness is what I love about the shot, it's so Interview. Fabien knows how to turn celebrities into something worthwhile to talk about and their interviews are often worthwhile. Having him being by the designers at Valentino, genius. Then a bit smart to chose Owen vs Ben as Stiller has been getting issue after issue. Also that Givenchy editorial is divine, wouldn't that be great as the ad campaign vs what Mert & Marcus did.

I love the cover but owen's looking rough. The givenchy editorial is at the very least very confusing, i don't know if that was the best theme possible.

This is why Fabien’s Interview is untouchable to me: I don’t care for Owen and can’t bear his face, but they offered a shoot that is just beautiful and shines through by sheer force of strong and simple visuals. The design vocabulary that Fabien gives Interview is something that is beyond fashion and celebritydom.

How interesting the way they've made him look way older on the cover. The complete opposite of the extreme photoshop of female cover subjects.

Also, that drunken editorial is the stupidest thing.

^^^ But that Riccardo is so gangsta and Givenchy is legit about thuglife...

It's interesting choice. I really like him styling like this but gosh he seems so old now..

No comments on the cover.

I do want to say that the Tisci ed might stir some controversy, considering the amount of violence in it. I think it's highly unnecessary. Not only the violence, also the fact that Tisci gets another ed dedicated to him. I'm so tired of it. He must be the only designer who after all these years still gets so many Givenchy eds.

These days, I don't see many magazines making the effort to create something like that Tisci editorial. Yes, perhaps it's not saying anything profound, but at least there's an attempt to produce something that's different from yet another dull studio shoot.

As for the cover, whether you're Owen Wilson, Eddie Redmayne or Robert Redford, having a face as rough as old sandpaper seems to be your passport to a magazine cover. I like the sight of natural skin texture, but not when it's a luxury afforded to only one-half of the fashion world.
