Interview March 2019 : Cate Blanchett by Venetia Scott

Venetia left her job at British Vogue for this???

Lady Chatterley after one of her animalistic trysts!

With decent styling it may have turned out decent, but alas.

It reminds me of “Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf?”

I resent this cover for so many factors! First of all, Cate is easily the most overexposed actress for magazine covers, she overdoes it, and needs better PR managment. Love her as an actress, but its starting to make her look bad. Secondly ANYONE that works for this magazine, gets a downgrade in my book. Shame on all of them for indulging this vain man, and his exploitative title!!!!

And last but not least, why is she presented like this on the cover? Why not make her look more in control, and powerful!! Venetia really missed the boat on this one!

Got this in the mail today. It's huge-about 10.5''x16.5''

Best issue since the relaunch, though that's not saying much

Clearly no-one with a shred of journalistic credibility wants to be associated with this magazine so they've gone the full hog with the celebrity 'interviewers'. I'll be gobsmacked if any of them manage to produce something insightful or even noteworthy

I was so excited to get this after axiomatic’s review, but I received it in the mail today and the paper quality is so gross. I can’t stand to touch paper that feels the way this issue does, it feels like it dries my hands out. Besides that, it is a very cool change in size. And I wonder where I’ll store it, it’s even longer than W.

I don´t know if that was sarcasm but I think both are terrible

Interview has been doing this celebrity interviewed by celebrity thing for years, even during Fabien’s era. It’s just now a lot of more mainstream magazine adopted that kind of Interview format.

Anyway, i dont really like the new Interview. They should have just let this magazine died. I bought the R Patt issue, the fashion content is almost none and it only has around 9 pages of advertising. Very embarrassing.

Even so, reading that review is just ridiculous. I know the magazine was kind of built around this culture of fame and celebrity, but seriously, give someone actually qualified for the job a chance. Celebrities are annoying enough without thinking they can write as well.

It wasn’t sarcasm at all. It is a total difference. One issue you have a thick stock, almost standard sized issue with Young Thug on the cover, the next issue is almost newspaper and shaped like it should be viewed digitally with an iPhone XS Max with Cate Blanchett on the cover.
They are honestly both terrible. I only buy Interview now because we all know it’s doomed to cease publication anytime now, but it was my absolute favorite magazine for years.

I love Cate as an actress, but she needs to take a long sabbatical, from magazines for a while. Especially these kinds of magazines, with this kind of styling, which is just not her.
I loved Interview, grew up with it, but it really should have stayed dead.
