Interview Winter 2022 : Emma Corrin by Heather Glazzard

Should’ve given Paul Mescal the cover instead.

She seems open to experimenting with her image, but she doesn't do it with the effortless ease of someone like Tilda Swinton. For me, there's something self-conscious about Emma's pictures, as if she spends a lot of time thinking about how to express herself in these editorials, and what it signifies. That comes at a cost, because that degree of 'being in your head' about yourself can make it seem like you're playing yourself as a superficial character, rather than fully being a person with different aspects that you choose to share with the world.

Any time I say something about Emma, I always feel like I'm being unfair, as if it's a crime that an actor wants to bring something to their magazine appearances.

The aesthetic of Annie Lennox, Grace Jones and Tilda is always a win to me, and before the non-binary concept (which is so cool dressing as you feel!) It was jazzy and so magnetic, and a fashion style you only spotted in fashion magazines once every ten years. The pictures are great, as the previous Interview's covers.
