I thought that was the cover too, but somebody who actually bought it, wrote that it was another picture on the cover. :flower:

^ i see, thanks for clearing that up, but i still find a bit odd that vogue would have uploaded a "fake" cover, specially when it looks so much like a Vogue Italia cover ,
i guess will have to wait until the mistery is solved...^_^

BREAKING NEWS

Iselin is to retire from modelling because of studies.

I will translate the article and post it here shortly.

Really?
I can' t blame her for making that choice. Education is the most important thing after all.

Oh no, that's such a shame! She's an amazing model!

Good luck to her though..

Says goodbye to Gucci

by Christina Svanstrøm

She has been in front of the camera around the world for two years. Iselin is now putting the blitz rain behind her. She is becoming a student.
The Harstad-model is letting her apartment in New York go and is moving to Trondheim (Norway) around christmas. She is going to take some mathematical courses before she will start engineering or architectural studies next fall.

- Two years of this hard work is enough. There is a lot of travelling, a lot of working and too little sleep, explains Steiro.

Muscular

And what she is leaving is not little. She has entered into the fashion world, been told she has a great future by the fashion experts and has campaigns for big fashion names like Gucci in her portfolio. She has travelled around the world, had an aparment in New York, been alot to Paris and Las Vegas.

- The apartment in New York is actually a kind of warehouse, considering that I work so much everywhere.

She has in other words lived a life that many dream of.
14 years old Iselin was discoveres by a fashion scout. One year late she was test photographed. After finishing high school in Harstad she fit right into the fashion world with her naturally slim body.

- All my life I've been told that I'm so skinny. When I started to model the weight wasn't a problem, but funny enough I was told that I was too muscular, says Steiro.

Well taken care of

At home in Harstad Iselin was a well known figure in the volleyball community. Exercise was a part of life.

- As a modell I do not have much time to exercise. The most important is to eat vitamins and fruit to care for your health.

Iselin Steiro tells that she and the other girls that have managed to get in to the modelling world are well taken care of and are not sent out after one bad picture.

- Most people who become models know what they are going into. Those who are struggling to get into the community are perhaps told that they need to lose a few pounds. Thats just the way it is, but I still have found that the focus in om being healthy instead of really skinny, she points out.

- What is it like to be a role model to other young girls?

- If someone looks up to me, I hope it is because I've worked hard and achieved something with it. But I've had a lot of luck and had the right look at the right time.

The model herself has role models like her big sister, Jan Egeland (Norwegian in charge of UN's humanitarian aid), and the nice, smart and hospitible parents of her friend in Vesterålen.

Northern-Norwegian patriot

In ten years Iselin believes she is back in Harstad, and that she has finished her education and given birth to her first child. Because Nort-Norway is where herself grew up and there is no other place where she could imagine starting a family.

- I love nature, fishing and being in the mountains. Even though the big city life has it's advantages, North-Norway is definetively victorious. Coming back to Harstad is luxury to me. Especially the times I've been abroad and longed back to ( a Norwegian meal I can't translate).

Year off

In the fashion world she feels like a tourist on a strange planet, and thinks it is a sick and shallow business. After countless hours alone, be it in airports or other places, she feels she has learned a lot about herself.

- I've learnt what my boundaries are, how to relate to other cultures and how to take care of myself. In addition I've become a master at smalltalk, she says.

- Why did you, after three years of mathematics and physics at Heggen (high school), choose to go for it as a model?

- Many people take a year off after high school. The door was open, and I thought I could see the world and stay in New York for a year. I had no plans to go far. But when i understood that there was something to be achieved in the life as a model, my competetive instincts took over and one year became two.

For Iselin Steiro it is important to emphasize that she does not give the interview because she wants attention, but the opposite.

- I'm sure there are a lot of people who are wondering why I am quitting modelling. Now they know, she finishes.

I apologize in advance for the grammatical errors, as this was translated in a
hurry.

Excuse me while I go and cry myself to sleep.

Wow, she is taking on an engineering course. I always knew that she was a smart girl ^_^. I'm glad that she isn' t quitting right away. The article says that she'll start the course next year so maybe she'll do runway shows this season.
Although I'm kinda sad I wish her all the best. She is one of the best models in recent years and I'm sure she'll do well in university

Thanks for the translation omnis :flower:

good girl! i`m happy for her
but she`s the secound my fav model who`s quitting model business
first was heather because of her death

It's such a tragedy. She is at the peak of her career with the cover of this months Vogue Italia.

Well, well, I suppose I should be happy for her .. At least we will se her in spring shows and the spring campaigns, so her face will not disappear before 10-11 months. Maybe this news will boost her popularity so that people will want to use her before she goes?

I'm even hoping that McDean, Sorrenti, Meisel, etc. will fly her from Trondheim to Paris once in a while for editorial shoots. She is going to need pocket money at the university ..

It' s surprising that she' s leaving the game while she' s at her peak but I understand that she wants her normal life back and who knows maybe she'll do it part time:flower: .

I'm just.. I don't know what to say. I totally wasn't expecting that:shock:

Oh no! Iselin!

But she's studying architecture like me! Good for her and best luck to her!
