Maybe it is just me but I don't see any actual "styling" in her work. Of course there is, she styled them, but I don't feel any creative or personal touch. I can look at other stylists work and be intrigued in how they use clothing to provoke language and give their signature. I am getting nothing from this.

j'adorek :

it's funny, though, how her edits, despite their simplicity, feel so remarkable and hard to forget.

raw love !

jane how is sort of the Joe McKenna of women ...
a jean, a tshirt and the good "eye" = genius moment !

jane how is known for utlilising mundane almost familiar elements in her stories. she was the first to do so. so there is a personal touch in her work.

also,as outside just styling, she has been responsible for the outward vision and direction of hussein chalayan and at maison martin margiela(the puppet presentation from a/w 98). she also did the very popular christian dior adverts in spring 2000.

haha i just thought i need to put my 2 cents again.
so here it goes:
if we consider a fashion stylist only as a person who creates/translates runway looks and showroom pieces into a narrative, then Jane How and people like her are not the most amazing wonders of fashion world. but that's the trick. we need to dig much deeper within this mundane, sort of everything will do styling. i think here we speak about director of the shoot, a person who has creative vision for the sitting, who has an eye for the right imagery as much as about right clothing that not translates it, but complements it. this kind of work is less decorative (therefore looks simple), but is more thought-after in terms of not creating an exterior but being totally in control with the inner side of the shoot.
i've just read an interview with another great talent, Venetia Scott, who tells about her role during fashion shoots. to put it short, being a stylist is not about picking a right gown for the right occasion. it's about creating a plot and trying to get every element in order so that a viewer believed the story he's looking at.
as much as we all enjoy the fireworks, it's the ordinary flame that keeps the fire burning.

Interesting, I had no idea about work with Hussein and MMM (when MMM was actually relevant). I can see how her styling work does have the effortless, mundane look to them which in a way is pretty rebellious for an industry that loves glitz and excess so I can appreciate her, I am just not inspired.

I have no doubt though that she is a very creative individual now knowing what she has be apart of.

i'm loving all of these last eds posted... scott is so right: jeans, t-shirt + magic touch = jane how magic :)

Not a fan of this one.-_-

sigrid and jane make the most lovely combination! does anyone know of any pictures of her? i'm curious, as apparently she's not one of those showy stylists you always see in front of the cameras at fashion week and stuff

Is it the first time she works with VP?. just wow!
I love her work, it's simple but it really shows what the story is about.
I also find her work kinda melancholic, I don't know.. but there's this mood I can't explain when I see it.

^second, she also styled that blondie ed with raquel z (sept 2009)...
i agree with berlinrocks:
