Latvian model Janis Vilumovs stops-by on his first trip to London following a four month trip to Asia.
Janis made his catwalk debut in June 2010 walking for brands such as Frankie Morello, Moschino and closing for Z Zegna.
The keen basketball player has featured in magazines including Wonderland, 10 Men, GQ Style Germany and TenMag as well as becoming a regular on the catwalks of Milan, Paris and New York.

Nickname: I don’t have just one but if I have to choose it would be Ulite. It means nothing and it doesn’t make sense but a very good friend of mine just started calling me it.
How were you scouted: I was contacted on a Latvian social media site.
What’s your best feature? I would say my persistence. If I want to get something done i’ll make it happen no matter what it takes! I’m also very generous and loyal to people that deserve it.
Top 3 grooming products: Fragrance and deodorant are the only things I use. I’m not really into moisturiser creams and other stuff that most models are using.
Favorite fragrance: Emporio Armani Diamonds and Bleu de Chanel.
What’s your most lavish purchase? I haven’t felt this way about any of my purchases but if I have to pick one it would be the pair of basketball shoes that I asked my parents to buy me when I was 12. They were expensive and I didn’t even like them, but I knew all my friends would be jealous.
Hobbies: Basketball and pretty most sports. Recently i’m into reading books which I didn’t enjoy when I was younger in high school.
Fitness regime: I’m into most sports and try to workout at least 3-4 times a week.
What was the last movie you watched? 12 Years A Slave, and I would like to say it’s one of my favorite movies!
What was the last track you listened to? Wale – Ambition . I’m not really into r’n'b and rap anymore like I was 1 or 2 years ago but I still have a couple tracks that I would never delete off my ipod, like Eminem – Lose Yourself.
What are your Guilty pleasures? Sweets. I have a hard time dealing with chocolate and cookies… I don’t know why but I would rather have a pack of Oreos than a bottle of beer!
What’s your biggest fear? Myself
Your dream country to visit? I would love to go visit the Tahiti islands with my girlfriend. It’s my dream to wake up in one of those small houses built into the Ocean and open the doors and jump into water. To start a day like this would be the most memorable time of my life!
If you weren’t modeling you would be… Probably studying in university and playing basketball at semi-pro level. Basketball was my life since I was a kid.
What is your most memorable moment? I would say my first show. I have never been that stressed but I really enjoyed it.
If you could be on the cover of any magazine, it would be: It will be GQ . Without dreams you can’t achieve anything in life and that’s my motto. Think positive and try to push yourself to the limit!
What was the last thing to make you cry?: ‘The Notebook’ haha!
What’s your favorite fashion city and why?: New York. That city has a soul and energy that is like no place on Earth.
Who are your idols?: Kobe Bryant and Will Smith. Especially Will Smith because he isn’t just a great actor but an amazing person. I would not be afraid to say that everyone should take something from his character!
What was the last dream you remember?: My friend singing Scorpions – ‘Wind of Change’ and playing on piano instrumental through the Macy’s information center desk microphone. I woke up and was laughing so hard! I have never heard him sing but it made me believe he can sing!
