Jason Wu Collection S/S 2024 New York

I was VERY ready to write off yet another pretty collection from Wu, but this is really quite beautiful, especially for New York. I think you can tell he's trying to experiment with textures, but it's not quite there yet. It needs to be AMPED up a bit.

The sheer gowns remind me SO much of Theyskens at Nina Ricci.

I really like this. Great play on textures and interesting colors, patterns and fringe cuts. My only complaint is about the models. They look miserable and there are no blondes. They all sort of look the same even though there is some diversity.

Look 9 is begging me to be part of my wardrobe! So chic!
This is so far the best collection of NYFW. It’s very easy to wear while having the right touch of risks that his client would want.

Styled like this, it gave a totally new vibe but we know that the Jason Wu woman would have a more formal approach and it will look good too.

The green bomber jacket is also very great. Good prints, good proportions, good fabrics treatment.

These are clothes you don’t want to see on the Redcarpet but irl. A great success!

The best look here similar to Prabal Gurung. The baggy pants with a fishtail hem top. Its actually the exact same look in different materials. The finale look - a denim floor length with top was just shown at RL too. These arent good things IMO.

overall its a coherent collection of wearable silhouttes executed in desirable ways. The dresses need the hems straightened out but are otherwise gorgeous. I dont know if JW is at rhe point to get custom fabrics made so I dont know how much credit to give him.

THE TEXTURES! So gorgeous, so right, so what Prabal tried to do but couldn't exactly get there. A relaxed and distressed grandiosity.

Perhaps maybe a little too much fraying, but I'd rather see someone commit to it in full than just chuck it on a hem here and there for the sake of pleasing the deconstruction demi-gods. This is a collection that you know went through textile sampling, and I love that. Reminds me of the sensation I'd get with Theysken's current collections.

Very happy to pass up on the denim though. I mainly hate that kind of wash. And considering what Ralph did this season with denim, really all of NYFW should just pack up their denim looks because it'll be a waste of time trying to convince us all.

Actually a very precise, great collection from him. I think at the beginning he grew too fast. Seems like stepping back has done good to him creatively. I like the styling as well. really elevate the clothes. The gown definitely makes me think of OT at Nina Ricci. Is he auditioning for a house? I mean it is quite expertly done for NYFW.

I love the colors and the black to green color transitions for the opening 20 looks is amazing.

The blue dresses look so gorgeous too

One of the best collections to come from NYFW, without a shadow of a doubt. Always been a fan of Jason Wu in all honesty, and think this collection is rather beautiful from start to finish. I just love love LOVE the flow and cohesion of the collection, which is even evident from the thumbnails. Very much a fan of this!
