Will the earth move for Jemma Baines?
SHE took out the Girlfriend Model search in 2010, and the future is looking bright for Grange teen Jemma Baines.
Jemma, who recently featured in a four page spread in Harper's Bazaar magazine, has been named as the face of Marcs winter campaign, leading her in the same direction as former Girlfriend alumni Catherine McNeil and Abbey Lee Kershaw.
Although thrilled with the gig, Jemma, the daughter of well-known artist Andrew Baines, said she does have career pathways other than modelling on her mind.
"People don't know that I want to be a seismologist, most people don't know what it is but I really love it," she said.
"I love rocks. I fell in love with them when I studied a section in science on them."
However, for the moment Jemma is happy with the modelling world and hopes that more travel is on the cards.
"I haven't done a lot of travel yet, I went to a shoot in New Zealand and it was in glaciers," she said.
It was cold and I got sick but we got some amazing shots!"
Jemma studied Chinese for four years and would love to travel through Asia. She is very keen to check out Tokyo.
Jemma is managed by Chic Model Management who also famously manage Miranda Kerr. Interestingly enough, when Miranda entered the Girlfriend contest in 1996 she did not even make the finals. Take that!
